Hi all,

The GOG Website shows me for this title (I'm in Austria, Europe) a price of 59EUR.

Amazon Germany where I can ordered a boxed DVD copy (and that code will redeem here on GOG as well) asks 44EUR.

I love GOG, and I love CDPR, but 15EUR extra for buying directly at the source, digital versus physical, seems a bit weird.
I've seen similar here in the states. For example, Steam has the new Wolfenstein for the full $60, but Amazon has the DVD for $40.

Just goes to show that we still need to shop around.

It was weird 10 years ago. Now, people prefer games to be digital because its more convenient. Always have the game copy available at any computer you own, don't have to care for/keep track of a CD, and don't have to wait a week while they ship it.
It does indeed seem that retail boxes are often cheaper than digital. I pre-ordered Witcher 3, the edition with a steel box, and it was just 37 USD / 33,5 EUR, and retail boxes still have codes to redeem them here on GOG.

Not really sure why it's that way. I think it may be a publisher habit from the past - when they released local, translated versions, no one outside a country speaking that language would buy it, so they could sell it cheaper in that region, with a price tag more appealing to local gamers. Games requiring online activation may be region locked, and thus they could sell cheaper too. Seems most game releases follow these price rules, even if they are DRM free and in multiple languages available for everyone - like Witcher 3.
Thanks guys.

I hope GOG/CDPR gets the same cut from my Amazon sale, as I just can't justify 15 bucks extra for a non-physical copy if I can have both at lower price...

You can get the digital version on amazon too. Same price 44,99€.
Yeah but the Physical Copy will redeem here on GOG and give me digital version + a nice case, the maps and manual.
That is right. But you have to pay a "Spezialversand" (5 €) because it is a USK 18 game. I never would buy a USK 18 game on Amazon in Germany.
LOL, Amazon is screwing up the German Customers. Sneaky bastards.

For my shippment address in Austria it's free, no five extra.

But thanks for the warning...
