How do I make it so that steam recognizes Witcher 3 as one of the games on my computer?

I guess you have to say Steam where the exe-file of Witcher 3 is. The exe-file can be found here: The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\x64.
But adding the game to Steam only makes you able to launch it from Steam. You can`t download or patch it there or get achievements or trading cards.
