Hi guys,

There may be some minor mission spoilers in this post*

I have been doing the quest "Following the Thread" and I have just been to Faroe to speak with Hammond. After I have done so, I go to the closest village which is Trottheim and attempt to Fast Travel back to Novigrad to meet Lambert at the Nowhere Inn.
When I do so it loads for maybe 3 seconds and then just crashes to the desktop. Even if I attempt to fast travel from another village in Skellige to Novigrad or anywhere in Velen it crashes.
Attempting to fast travel from Skellige to Vizima also crashes the game.
I have done the main quest up until the start of "Ugly Baby".
Before the wake of King Bran I was able to fast travel back to Novigrad with no problem.
I have repaired and verified my game files through GOG.
Maybe it has something to do with the latest DLC "Where the Cat and Wolf Play"?

I have seen people with the same problem on the Steam forums but there is no actual fix as of yet.

Any information would be appreciated.
I hope there is a fix or at least one coming soon. Seems no one knows much about it

EDIT-----

I have been able to use the boat to fast travel to Novigrad Harbour. However sign-post fast travel is still crashing to the desktop

Yes,it's strange as people are completing game with no problems and others
having them.If it is a bug as it was in Skyrim then sooner or later and probably
later it will be fixed.In Skyrim if you didn't fast travel then you had no problems.
I'm still using 1.02 and no DLC's as yet but haven't come across any crashes
and I must admit that I haven't played more than a couple of hours so probably
no where near enough play time.
And it's also funny how it's being stated as a bug,and others who have completed
the game will say ''what bug?''But I suspect it's the same as Skyrim's bug.

Ritualisto - Really? I had no idea other people were having the same problem

gunsynd - Thanks for the info. I had already previously completed the game...I really think it has something to do with "Following the Thread" or the new DLC side quest "Where the Cat and Wolf Play" because before I updated to that DLC and before I continued "Following the Thread" I was able to fast travel no problems. So I think it's that. People have been saying the side quest "The Price of Honor" has a similar bug as well.

Wow, yeah I am glad I found this post. was looking to see if anyone has a similar problem, and this is my problem verbatim. Just before the Ugly baby quest, and I'm trying to complete follow the thread, fast traveling from the same location and boom, crash to desktop. Any word on a fix or workaround? I'd like to continue playing. Are we just waiting for 1.07 to come and hope they include a fix for this odd bug?

EDIT: I somehow missed that link to the other thread. I guess i will revert to a save previous to starting this side quest and wait for the patch. Thanks for sharing, good to know whats going on here.

First of: I didn't really read the posts after the first one.
I had the same crash problem but found myself a workaround:

In Following the Thread when you have to get back to Lambert
at the Nowhere Inn you have to make another quest active.
Then fast travel to Velen/Novigrad works.
