I haven't played for over a year, and my game is currently at version 1.08. so i went to my downloads to check out latest patches and there is only a patch for 1.10 > 1.30
This update will not work for me, and I cannot find update 1.08>1.10 anywhere.
Why doesn't gog have old patches for this exact reason?

There were too many patches and they were massive in size (Gigabytes). It's much simpler to just download the latest game installer.

Wouldn't I lose my data by doing that? reinstalling the whole game as opposed to just updating it

What do you mean by "data"? If you are talking about saved games, no. They are kept in documents. If you are talking about mods, that's a different matter, and the updated version will likely be incompatible with your mods anyway.
