I notice the GOTY version is alot smaller in size to download, compared to W3 and all the dlc downloads ? why is that, also, does the GOTY version also come with the free 16 dlc included ? thx
GOTY is the complete version of the game. Contains all DLCs, the Free 16 ones and the 2 huge, paid for, expansions. Has some minor differences in the menus (GOTY is better and has more variety), but other than that, they are exactly the same... Even the non-game bonuses are identical, exactly the same!

So if I already have the non-GOTY version installed is there any point whatsoever in switching to GOTY ?

None at all! Unless you want GOTY's main menu to change between the one of Witcher 3 base, that of the first expansion and that of the second... Non GOTY is stuck with only one main menu, the one that installation of Blood and Wine brought!
Thx guys.

Although, if you read some of the threads on this forum, some people have suggested that because GOTY is a unified version of the game, it does seem to run smoother and remove some optimization issues / bugs that people were experiencing with the non-GOTY version.

I can't confirm that, though, as I do not have the GOTY ver installed.

I can confirm that, though and i have already opened a thread on it, lol! Goty runs faster, (seemingly) better performance and movement is smoother, indeed!

Funny, I just booted up the GOTY version and thought the same things. Slightly better FPS (on average) and more smooth for sure.

I might consider purchasing the GOTY version after all...
