RudyLis: Remember previous games. In first level cap was 50, I think, but with normal playing, without excessive grinding, you could get somewhere around 35. Judging by certain quests levels, game aims at least somewhere there.
Ah ok, so it's just a hard cap. Not anything to really work towards, it's just there if you want it.

Yup. Given that monster killing gives like 2xp apiece, it'll be a long way to, since quests are limited.

On a side note, I found that nilfgaardian soldier in Velen who took the girl.
