I just updated the game to version 1.08.1 but the game screen shows only 1.08

i'm downloading it now . why on earth is it 4gigs ? 1.08 was 2.2 or so . and now another 4 gigs ?
i think i have redownloaded the entire game by way of patches .
this game was not ready for release , they are using us as beta testers

I believe it's because it's a cumulative patch (like the last few have been), meaning you can patch directly from 1.02 to 1.08.1 without having to use the intervening patches.

so i'm downloading this massive patch containing mostly fixes i already downloaded because cdprod cant put up an option to just get what i need ?
galaxy tried to make me dl all the "extras" to get this patch . it wouldn't let me stop the extras , it was all or nothing , this is just bad on their part
actually makes me angry . they are supposed to be professionals , yet they act like amateurs .
so every patch will just get bigger ,incorporating all the patches rather than just what is new ,
so stupid ,
complete disregard for us the consumer , tying up my bandwidth with a patch that's 4 gigs when i might only need 25mb's

Keep in mind this is just conjecture on my part, but yeah, it seems as if that's the way they're doing the latest few patches, at least.

As for Galaxy, it's beta, and barely acts like an alpha, so I'd recommend not using it. But that's just me. I think they rushed it to coincide with the release of Witcher 3 and it obviously was nowhere near ready for prime time.

i had galaxy installed but it refused to give up trying to download all the extras , and yes i had auto update set to off , but no matter what updates were available galaxy incisted on me dl'ing the 7.5 gigs of extras, so i uninstalled it (galaxy) ,

cdprod are bs , 4 gigs to get a 115 mb update . or they are completely inept and cant manage to allow for a simple update without re-downloading the whole game .

so i guess this is release candidate #4 of their early access/beta program we all bought instead of a finished game

It's still just reading 1.08 for me as well.

One reason to wait until the two "larger" sequels are out, and then again wait some more until the whole bunch is sufficiently bug fixed!
Stopped at 1.06 - could not care less about the date when I finally will be able to actually start a FINISHED game.

Still, I hope CDPR will learn from what is happening...

Yeah, I stopped playing at 1.06 as well and just decided to wait until the dust settles and most of the issues are sorted out (if they ever are) before continuing. The first thing I did when installing the Witcher 3 was uninstall Galaxy, I see no real benefit to it and as an early steam user know how buggy such a thing will be for years to come. Even today, ever since the release of Half Life 2, steam still pushes out regular bug fixes!

I think one big mistake CDPR concentrated their efforts on were all the free DLC. I would gladly have forsaken all 16 of them for a more stable and bug free game. The dozens of hours to create those would have been better spent towards patches/testing that actually fixed the issues.

But hey, who am I to tell them how to run their company!

i have played the game since day one without any major bugs, i also upgraded to windows 10 and still didnt undergo any problems, either there are some people behind pc who blame their bad pc maintenance on CDPR, or CDPR are amateurs, i didnt undergo any major issue;s and so did 100 thousands of others so just stop complaining, report a bug and wait for ur turn to play the game, and update ur drivers if u have any problems or buy a better pc :) CDPR delivered a product they can be proud of, and ur pc's are just full of pornware

GOG Galaxy says: 1.08.1 (including Patchlog). I have autoinstall enabled.

But the Main Screen of the game itself still says 1.08

Same here. Installed the newest Patch....it says 1.08.1 is intsalled, but ingame it displays 1.08....and new game+ is not compatible with 1.08...

EDIT: There is Patch 1.08.2 now...it appeared a minute ago...again 2.1 gb :D
