I'm considering a purchase of Witcher 3 for the PC. I viewed one youtube review that mentioned you needed a xbox controller to play it effectively.

Is that a true statement or will a keyboard and mouse work fine?

thanks

I'm on PC and it works great for me. Of course, I hate console controls. Haven't played on a console much since N64.
Myself, I'm on PC with mouse and keyboard and it works fine. BUT if you need to rebind keys - BEWARE that some players have not been able to rebind certain keys. If you are left handed, or have a non-standard keyboard, or are disabled, or whatever reason, rebinding could be an issue. Myself, I have been able to rebind some keys and others I leave alone and make do.

I've never used a game pad for PC games, so I wouldn't know if it works better.

Whoever sayd this is apperantly not used to keyboard + mouse. Controls are fine, and now with alternative movement from 1.07, even better.
I use a controller for these types of guys, it just seems to have been made and better optimized for controller.
i don't like circle menus atall and esp that after 1.0.7 "tab" from modifier become a switch.
