Up until now I could live with the bad filenaming but now it got to the point where I cannot tell what is what anymore, an example follows:
https://www.gog.com/downlink/dlc_16/en1installer1 is New Finisher Animations but downloads: setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.34.exe

Now NG+ :
https://www.gog.com/downlink/dlc_9/en1installer1 is New Game + but downloads: setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.37.exe

Now according to that scheme I would deem: setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.37.exe an updated version of New Finisher Animations (setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.34.exe) if I do not look into my witcher folder for some weeks or even days.

In terms of relational databases:
3NF cannot be reached.....

Please fix it ^^ ;)
I love GOG, but it has to be said, in all honesty, that when it comes to naming conventions, whoever is in charge of this not so small area at GOG is/are unequivocally incompetent. I mean, do they even see what their end users see? It's quite frankly disgraceful.

It will get funny if they need/want to update New Finisher Animations to Version 2.0.0.37....

Personally, I have got to the stage where I rename files and archive them so that I know what is what. The thing that gets me is that GOG know, from the myriad complaints on this very subject, that their naming system sucks, yet they still plod on making the same mistakes over and over. I hate to say it, but somebody over there needs to be sacked, or at least moved to a job that they can actually do.
Agree with OP. Cannot fathom the naming conventions. Had to use Galaxy just to keep track of it. Would it be so hard to consistently number and describe each file? Would also be nice, on CDPR's end, if they had numbered them within the game menu as well.
I took the liberty to add a wish since I couldn't find one, feel free to chime in: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/normalize_filenames_namescheme
I just ended up re-downloading all of them because it's such a mess. seriously why are there two dlc15's? Well the GOG Downloader downloads 16 folders dlc_1 through dlc_16 and inside dlc_16 for example is "setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.34.exe" and then inside dlc_9 is "setup_the_witcher3_dlc15_2.0.0.37.exe".

Makes no sense.
Now that all the free dlc are out, they should just make one dlc pack including all the files. That would stop the confusion and would be way more convenient than installing 16 dlc one by one.

Yeah.

But it would do absolutely nothing to fix their stupid naming convention. That is what they need to fix.
I agree with what has been mentioned here. The patches, DLC's - the naming is simply horrid - as is the language in the patches - the font is something close to Arabic font and you don't know what it says....
