We've all had it happen... There are monsters wandering around that haven't noticed you, or you're surrounded by a group of bandits but they're all hanging back circling you... Have you ever just wanted to bellow a challenge at the top of your lungs to provoke the one you're facing into attacking? ;) It would be extremely cool if you cold do that...! (and would be really in-character for Geralt to boot...) ;)

Gameplay-wise, it could be really neat... Say you have a 60% chance of goading them into attacking you right after the taunt, but there's also a chance that it can backfire... a small chance that weak enemies will panic and flee (fly/run away and need to be shot with the crossbow before you can catch/attack them), a small chance of having them go berserk (in which case they attack with a damage bonus), and a very small chance that the entire group will swarm you at once. :) Key-mapping wise, maybe something like "block"+"horse-whistle" could work.
I love this idea, especially the risk vs. reward factor. Well conceived. Plus, it would be a nice break from the ol' "Damn, you're ugly" and "Shit, you stink" taunts, which lost their luster about nine hundred utterances ago. Come on, Geralt, you can do better than that!

Strangely, there are lines in some of the xml files with code like "taunt chance" and a number from 0 to 1. But I think that is a chance for the enemies displaying certain animations, I'm not sure.

Monsters are not intelligent. They don't understand what taunting is. Humans and non-humans on the other hand are intelligent and could react to taunting, but it just does not fit to Geralt. He's not Nero.

You can have that already in a few different (nonverbal) ways:

- use the crossbow
- throw a bomb
- use the alternative mode of the igni sign
- aard them to make them aware of your presence.

Normally/mostly it will be enough to use the information provided by your mini map to circle any group of foes, get into their flank/back and then perform one of the above mentioned "measures".

When it would be taunting (shouted words), there had to be some variations - not randomly picked by the game.
Means: one additional key for every taunt.

What I (Geralt) really, REALLY would like to see is the possibility to smack the next NPC that remarks about the intervals in wich I (Geralt) washes his hair.
This and other "remarks" are driving me nuts when I have no option to "talk" (nonverbally again :) ) to the NPC in question.
