Final Fantasy III

Final Fantasy III (1990)

by Square, Square Enix
Genres:Role-playing (RPG)
Themes:Fantasy
Game modes:Single player
Story:Final Fantasy III is the third FF game for the Famicom. The turn-based battle engine has been improved: if the enemy is defeated, the next character will automatically switch to another enemy, and not hit the air, like in the previous two games. The game itself is, like the previous games, a top-down RPG where your characters travel in the overworld, sometimes entering cities and dungeons to buy equipment, rest and fight random encounters and bosses with turn-based combat. Final Fantasy III also introduces various series staples, such as the Job system and the Moogle species.Show more

  • Who did you play this game with?
  • What made it fun or challenging?
  • Why do you want this game on GOG?
If gog does this (and they should), offer the classic (obviously with multi region language support) and re-released version (which I believe was on the ds), but give people the option to choose. Don't go the D&D game "enhanced" route and force people to pay more for options they don't want.
This game represents my introduction to the black market of gaming. I was young and had a SNES, loved that system and played all kinds of games. Then while playing paintball, we met a friend who traveled overseas (Pete). He gave me a SNES cartridge with a floppy drive attached that you plugged into the SNES slot to play all kinds of games (it was from overseas and had a crazy name that I forget). The whole interface was Japanese so he had to give me the steps to load from the floppy. I played all kinds of games that never made it to USA. Pete also gave me 3 floppy disks that had FF3 on them before the game even came out in USA. I fondly recall playing the game and being absolutely blown away by it, Kefka was such a great villian and I can still recall many of the scenes even though I haven't played it for decades. It would be great to have this game on GOG so I can buy a legit copy that I can play anytime DRM free
