Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice (1992)

Genres:Platform
Themes:Action
Story:The background story of Fire & Ice is quick to tell: A coyote (you) runs, throwing ice cubes, through various worlds. In the levels you must jump on platforms and kill your enemies. The enemies (for example, birds and penguins) can be shot with your ice cubes; they become frozen, so you smash them. Sometimes they leave part of a key behind after they're destroyed. The complete key, assembled from all the pieces, opens the door to the next world.Show more

This is one of the most beautiful platformers of the 16bit era, and not a clone of any other game mechanics-wise (shoot ice pellets to freeze enemies and then run into them to break them apart, or in case of flying ones, they fall and shatter), so that's a huge plus. I played it to no end on my Amiga 600 (there was a nicer version on A1200 which included background images instead of just gradients, it was also on PC, but that was a poor version), and I remember it very fondly even though I never got further than 5-6 levels without cheating. It fully deserves a port, or at least to be bundled with an Amiga emulator.

Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters
Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time BustersDaffy Duck has somehow managing to break Granny's time regulator, causing himself and the Time Gem that acts as the heart of the regulator to be pitched back into the shrouded annals of history. Well, if there are two people you know to call when it comes to times of crisis they would be Bugs Bunny and ... Taz? Well, regardless of the intelligence of the decision, Bugs and Taz will have to work together on this mission, traveling through four different eras in a quest to find Daffy, recover the Time Gem and set things back to the way they ought to be. Take control of the two famous Warner Bros. characters in Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters for the PlayStation. You will alternate between the wise-cracking rabbit and the Tasmanian eating machine in an attempt to rescue the Time Crystal and Daffy. To do so, they'll have to use the Time Regulator themselves, blasting back through four different eras to complete their quest. These time periods are The Aztec Era, The Viking Era, The Arabian Era and Transylvanian Era. Each character has his own set of moves, from Bugs' quickness to Taz's spinning fury. You can play each of the characters at any point, calling your friend to your location and switching between them, occasionally using them at nearly the same time to get past a given obstacle. If you don't want to play the game alone, you can even bring in a second friend to play the other character.
