I played this quite a bit, back in the day. I always liked economic simulators and this one was very engaging and unique to my young mind, what with the historical setting and all. (I hadn't heard of the Patrician games then.)
I also liked the art style a lot, from the beautiful backgrounds that look like oil paintings to the calligraphy font used everywhere. Quite a good looking game, esp. for the time. Only the little animated person that would inidicate the size or quantity of things in addition to the numbers looked a bit goofy.
I also vaguely remember the game having some fitting and pleasant background music, although I couldn't humm any of the tunes today.
Would very much like to play this one again.
