I have hundreds of hours in this on Steam, but I'm one of those people that would like to own the games they love so they can keep playing them in the future. I'd happily purchase the game again to have the ability to have a legal offline installer.

I remember being gifted Civ 5 in 2012, only having played Civ 3 seriously before and thinking: 'Civ 5 is pretty gimmicky because of the Hexagons.' and not really liking it / taking it at face value. Then Shelfing the game till 2018 or 2019 when at the start of summer I had just gone trough a stressful semester and felt like I want to try something new. I installed Civ 5, stared a full random game, got given Askia's Songhai and I played the game for a bit, felt I was getting hungry and I remember telling myself "those last 2 hours of Civ 5 are so fun!", then going to another room and realising it's night time outside and I have played for 12 hours straight. No bathroom breaks, no food, no sense of time. And it was Vanilla CIV V! VANILLA! When you play Gods and Kings afterwards Vanilla feels unplayable. What an amazing time travel tool Sid Meier and Firaxis have made!

I am NOT big fan of Civ 5... but.. if it comes to GOG platform... I would be happy to buy and play it. I know it's available at Steam... but I do NOT want to deal with their platform and requirement of constant internet connection.

The amount of depth and mods available for this game is incredible. Community is still on-going and producing great content. Could use a bit of attention to spruce up the macOS and Linux versions, but having at least a Windows version available in a preserved space will help having its support only tied to Steam
The first Civ game I ever played, and that was mainly due to the massive amount of YouTube playthroughs I watched of people playing it. I played many RTS games as a kid but never a 4X due to how complicated I thought it looked, Civ 5 to me was a perfect entry point as it didn’t have a steep learning curve to it to try it out. I loved playing Rise of Nations as a kid so the gaining of new powers and resources was fun for me to try out as with a turn based game a lot more strategy needs to be planned out. It’s not to overwhelming as something like Civ 6 can be with the weather and district management, so if you want to jump into the series this would be the one.
I will never create a Steam account because they are a bunch of dishonest crooks. I would rather play the paid version than the repack release. I paid full price for the commercial retail release of Sid Meier’s Civilization V on DVD but it was a steam fake. The DVD doesn't actually include the game installation just the useless steam subscriber client install with ultra small print on the back barely large enough for anyone to read sayng it was subject to the SSA (Steam subscriber agreement) the game had to be downloaded once subscribed. Can you tell me how that is honest?
Those games also need your vote!

Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition
Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold EditionCivilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition was bundled both prior expansion packs and added options for networked and hotseat play, and features tweaked AI. All of the music tracks that were in the original release of Civilization II had been removed, however - only some of the "new" ones remained. The tweaked AI is also perpetually unfriendly, rendering most diplomatic functions useless. The Multiplayer Gold Edition was included in the Civilization Chronicles box set released in 2006.

Shin Megami Tensei II
Shin Megami Tensei IIFifty years have passed since the hero of Shin Megami Tensei followed the neutral path, defeated the leaders of Law and Chaos, and founded a state where followers of both ideologies could live freely. But his reign of freedom doesn't last long. The Messian faith gains power, expanding the Cathedral into a new enclosed environment named Tokyo Millennium. The Gaians rise up, but their rebellion is repressed by the Messians' elite warrior class, the Temple Knights. People flock into the encapsulated city, submitting themselves to the strict hierarchy imposed by the Messian Center, where only the privileged living in the Center district are safe from demonic assaults. A few years later, a retired arena fighter Okamoto rescues a man named Hawk, who was fighting for his life against a demon. He trains him to fight in the arena of the Valhalla district, hoping that he would win the tournament, which will grant them both citizenship in the Center district. When Hawk succeeds, he is brought before a Messian bishop, and learns the shocking truth about his own origins and the role he is supposed to play in the grand scheme of events. A new battle for a better future begins. Shin Megami Tensei II retains all the gameplay features of the previous game. The player is able to summon demons, fuse them to create more powerful ones, make them participate in battles, talk to random enemies and receive information from them, etc. The combat is turn-based, and the player explores the complex, maze-like dungeons from a first-person perspective view. Like in the first game, the Law, Chaos, and Neutral alignments play an important role: during the course of the game, the player will have to make choices that influence the alignment of the protagonist, steering the storyline into different directions. New features include a "magic succession" system, which allows demons to carry over their original magic spells when they are fused into new ones, a few additional spells and abilities, and the possibility to play at the casino and win unique items.
