Indeed. Love William Shatner. The character Denny Crane he played in the Boston Legal TV series was just epic. It had such an influence on me that I started smoking cigars with my scotch whiskey!

Shatner chilled out on the over acting quite alot from ST days to then, your not quite sure if the act that Denny has is real or if he's trying to make people think he's a dimentia paitient..

Yeah, that one has stayed with me too. In fact, every time I've played Fallout 4 (which let's you assign your own name to a weapon) I've always named my first primary weapon "My Little Friend." My nephew saw me playing one day and saw the name and of course had no inkling to what it referred.

I honestly think Shatner's Star Trek acting is too often unfairly maligned. When the situation called for it, like in The City on The Edge of Forever, he showed real acting chops. Or this scene. Or this speech.

And he was really great in the 1970 tv production of Andersonville Trial. I very much recommend it, if you can find it anywhere.
