Lucumo: Nothing is ever guaranteed, apart from your death :P But yeah, the physical version will be on DVD and USB-Stick, patches on their website most likely. And as Swedrami already said, digital version will highly likely be on GOG and other DRM-free places.
Well, the Kickstarter succeeded, so now you can only basically "pre-order" the game and other stuff...which will still count towards the stretch goals which weren't reached (Monk class and Linux version).
rjbuffchix: Hahaha! Ace response! Okay, that makes sense. Just wanted some clarity for myself. I am all about supporting developers but never really waded into the kickstarter sea yet. My apprehension is that I could end up funding something, only for a dev to turn around and give me a Scheme key instead of releasing the game DRM-free. In other words, I only want to condition my support on the game being DRM-free :)
Hehe, that's probably more an issue with smaller developers who failed to properly create their game, thus resulting in a dirty pile which GOG would reject. As for DRM-free, I'm pretty confident in this case. It's also the first time ever I supported/pre-ordered something because I hate buying the cat in the bag. While, in my opinion, the 100k goal is really low, there was already a lot of stuff done regarding the game (engine first and foremost). Still, considering they will translate this game in a lot of different languages and the more content there is, the more expensive it will be, I doubt this game will be too expansive. I mean, I certainly wish it was but there is only so much you can do with this amount of money. But as they said, they will release addons after 8-12 months, so properly sized content will definitely follow, in addition to what the community will do with the editor which seems to be pretty good. Well, for now it's just about sitting on our hands and waiting it out. One thing which I kinda dislike is that they will take feedback from people in the combat beta and beta. Considering that was tied to tiers, there could be "bad" feedback which would result in an easier/more mainstream game. And I really don't want to play something watered-down.
