ALH: I'll never support Steam but having bought all the Cinemaware releases so far on GOG i do feel a bit cheated.
A bit cheated? As it stands, this is probably the most blatant case of GOG customers being fucked over since the release of Botanicula.

The devs are active in steam decided to ask them , the anthology is worth buying now on steam if the price is going to rise to 78$ considering gog individual releases
As one of the ways to make it up to us, it'd be nice if Cinemaware included the alternative TurboGrafx and Genesis versions of IT CAME FROM THE DESERT running via emulation as exclusive GOG bonuses.

Lets wait and see what kind of fix they come up with.
I just grabbed the anthology pack. Should keep me entertained for quite a while. :D

That was my diplomatic mode.Anyone hear anything new from Cinemaware about what exactly is going to be done about this debacle?
I think a lot of this discussion crosses into "What could have been" territory. Yeah if this Anthology was on GOG some of us might have purchased it and it would of been cheaper than buying the games individually, but then again some of us might also have not purchased ANY games on GOG all year, and then purchased everything they wanted during the Christmas sale, that would also save you a lot of money.

Ultimately every game on GOG is "free" if you pirate it, so we're paying to have official copies on a permanent account.

You expect to see titles on sale a decent amount of time after they launch. This is not that. Rocket Ranger was only just re-released commercially on November 7th.
What some of us want to know is why Steam sells the bundle for $9.99 while GOG sells them individually @ $5.99 each.

Are GOG customers expected to pay more than Steam customers? nearly 500% more?

Yes.
It seems to be that way, as The Secret of Monkey Island has a higher price on GOG than on Steam too.

Thanks, I thought that was worth asking in the forums as well.

For everyone except Europeans...
you do have to wonder why its taking so long when it only takes a short phone call (s) to correct it?
Another sad fact is that it seems like this is a definitive list of the stuff that Cinemaware are able to release these days - notable by their absence are The 3 Stooges and, especially, The Kristal :-(

I wouldn't like to bash Cinemaware or be overly critical of their doings, but in all honesty, I'm beginning to have almost no faith in what they say.

They have made weird and contradictory statements about releasing stuff, pricing, getting backers game keys, and so on.

Someone asked this on Rocket Ranger Kickstarter comments:
"I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but will backers be able to get their codes for Steam or GOG on Day 1? I'm still kinda miffed that I still haven't got a key for Wings Remastered or the Amiga version on GOG yet."

Their response was:
"STEAM and GOG keys will be provided at no additional cost as part of this campaign once the game is released on those platforms. We have a release schedule for all our classic games on GOG (and other sites) as well as a surprise coming soon for Cinemaware collectors!"

That answer really doesn't answer the question (which was specifically about release day), it ignores the part about missing Amiga keys, but that "Cinemaware collector" part also implies that they knew about Steam release, so it really didn't happen behind Cinemaware's back.
Unless, of course, they are refering to something completely different, but that would seem even more weird, that they have a separate release schedule themselves, and their publisher following a completely different schedule.

They really should pay more attention to their PR side, because otherwise they seem to be creating the kind of games that people are expecting from them, which is always a good thing.
