I think the game is overhyped and there are better games in the Gog catalog .

Breja: Divinity 2 was so broken I could no even play it at release. I had to wait for about a month for a patch to even start the damn thing. And when I did... It wasn't really worth the wait. The game felt nothing like the original. It's definitely a better game than Beyond, and I did play it for a while, but not for long. From time to time I think of getting the Director's Cut and trying again, but I have so many other games, I don't think it will really happen.
It's worth getting - it's very different to Divinity (which to my mind was a bit like Diablo, but better fleshed out), but still a great action RPG in it's own right. Plus, the dragon thing is kind of cool, and the graphics aren't bad.

It's not a bad thing that you didn't slog through it on release - you need to hit the expansion pack as well, otherwise it's not a great ending.
Life is short. Start with DD:OS2. If you want to play more, hit the others.

DD (the first) is good.

DD:OS1 grew dull for me fast, but I think it was the controls on the console. I bought an upgrade to run DDOS2 and didn’t regret it. Fantastic game. But not for everyone. Combat makes the game shine. The story elements are good, but there are certainly better out there.
Anyone summarize the pro con's of both 1 and 2 for those considering whether to buy and which? (D:OS and D;OS 2 that is)

AnimalMother117: Original Sin 2. I thought you meant the game called Divinity II. I thought that was really strange, although not unwelcome.

Actually, while the topic is up, would anyone care to talk about the various games in the Divinity series? I have asked about the games in the past but I have a new interest in the games (I remember around the time I initially got my account playing Divine Divinity and my brother would watch Frasier in the background. Well, he decided to watch Frasier and that got me to want to actually play through Divine Divinity.) and am currently most the way through Divine Divinity. I like the game a lot but it constantly crashes (made mostly better using Software rendering) and I am debating if the game has bugged and permanently killed my ability to move forward. I was debating if I wanted to move on (either after beating Divine Divinity or just giving up if it really has bugged out) to either Divinity II or Original Sin.

I own both and am wanting to grab Original Sin II but have heard some conflicting things. But, to back up to Beyond Divinity and how I may play the game some day but as a novelty since the main hook did not really appeal to me. Therefore, if I were to move on with the series it would be over to either Divinity II or Original Sin. It would probably depend on what I feel like since I do like both styles of RPG sort of. Turn based battle systems in WRPGs are kind of one of those things and when I tried Original Sin one time I found the combat kind of tedious. I will point out that King's Bounty did not click for me the first try I gave it either.

Just to see what someone who has played both would think, which is better between Original Sin and Original Sin 2? I remember a nearly universally perfect reception of 2 when it launched and am curious if that still holds up.
The original Divine Divinity and Gothic 2, were the two games that convinced me to switch from console to the PC back in the day, and i never looked back.
Beyond Divinity was very good too, gameplay-wise actually even better than the original, but was harder to get into and overall more difficult.
Once i did get past the initial hurdles though, it was great.

Divinity 2 was a great game, very playable, very entertaining, great music and story. Sure it takes a little bit to get used to the combat system, which is not very fluid or polished, but to me it was very entertaining once i got into it.

Divinity Original Sin is also a wonderful game, very different from Larian Studios previous games, but every bit as good.

Original Sin 2 is good but....couldnt get myself to play it for long, i got bored, story is slow, nothing special over the first Original Sin (least not for the few hrs i played), and the painful absence of Kiril Pokrovski's superb music...to me it was like watching a Sergio Leone movie without Ennio Morricone's music, its simply not the same thing.

The Sergio Leone comparison hits kinda hard, don't wanna imagine what Once Upon a Time in the West would have been like without this beauty.
