Yup, put in as much time into Doom as i have Stalker.
GOG should definitely add more FPSs. I buy almost all of them, no matter how crappy they are - well, as long as they don´t play like some amateur programming experiment. Also third person shooters are a bit underrepresented here imo.
Descent!!!! One of my all-time favorites that never grows old. On a related note, the all-but-in-name modern successor Overload is sublime shooting action at its finest. :)

Doom for life! ... or should I say community-made, Doom-related content? ;) Also, imperial troops blasting simulator Dark Forces. The '90s are definitely my golden age for shooting things in the face.

Most modern FPSeses don't interest me terribly, although I love the Metros and the new Wolfensteins because they allow for a bit more freeform gameplay. That, and their stories/worlds are half the fun, too.

Of course I play shooter games, but only those featuring an offline single-player campaign.

I play Doom 3 BFG Edition these days.

Germans really are a peacelovin´ bunch, but when it comes to demons, mutants and aliens the fun is over.
I don't really play shooters. I guess I just don't like guns.

Are there any Medieval shooters where you attack with a bow or a crossbow or something like that?

Link's Crossbow Training, though that's pseudo-medieval fantasy. Would be interested to see the kind of thing you're talking about though. The Mount & Blade series gives nice crossbow and bow gameplay, but they're not shooters.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (mainly for atmosphere and exploration), F.E.A.R. (for its AI), both Metro games (though I enjoyed 2033 more).
The Zone is calling.

The Major's in for a surprise...

Heretic series, Hexen series, Witchhaven, Hunted: The Demon Forge, Enclave (if you concentrate on ranged weapons), Amid Evil, Hellraid, Lichdom: Battle Mage, and if you're into multiplayer Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.

Maybe Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. And to a certain extent Severance: Blade of Darkness, although that might be stretching it, since Dark Souls, Elder Scrolls series etc. also have medieval shooter elements without being shooters.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath has odd weapons. including a crossbow that shoots furry critters as ammunition.

As a general rule, shooter games are too simple for me to be interested in them. There is some fun to be had playing them multiplayer with friends, but aside from that they're one genre that I have almost no interest in.

To be interesting it needs something more, games like deus ex or system shock 2, where there are rpg mechanics. Just pointing and clicking shooting things is incredibly boring.
I used to play a lot of shooters but started moving away from them years ago. Bioshock, Call of Duty, Quake, Battlefront classic, etc. I still do play shooters but not as often as I do RPGs or platformers. The story of a game is always a big selling point for me.

Well, there's the bow in Thief (which is very nice, especially the sight) and there are crossbows in the medieval Norway level of Daikatana.

Since there are so few of them left, game developers shouldn´t encourage people to hunt the last of them :)
