Hello! I am searching for a level on either Doom I (now "Ultimate Doom") or Doom II, which has large pools of lava and on the far side of the level is an island surrounded with metal bars. On this island is a Cyber-Demon. Above and to the right of this island is a small house which requires either the Blue Key or the Red Key in order for the player to enter. Does anybody know which is this level and on which game is located?

I don't know the answer. Its been WAY too long since I played these games last. The first Doom game takes place on Mars though, while Doom 2 has the subtitle "Hell on Earth". So... if by house you actually mean house, and not just a small building, then Its most likely Doom 2. Again though, I really don't know what Im talking about.

From memory, there's only one level in Doom 2 which actually looks like it's supposed to be in a city
Check Youtube for Doom and Doom 2 speedruns, then you can locate the level in them.

Unfortunately no, just that you start at street-level and there's a bunch of buildings spread out around the map in a rectangular grid, also plenty of enemies in those buildings that shoot down at you. I'm pretty certain it's supposed to represent Earth that's been overrun by the demons.

I'm sure one of the forums Doom gurus will come by and correct me.

I am not talking for this level. One the level I want, there are large pools of lava and you can't suicide (if you want to) by jumping to the lava.

It does look good. Makes me consider possibly playing doom one day. Maybe.

There was a CD at the time (say, around 1996) Doom Mania, with thousands of levels and other absurdities.

I would look there for some cool levels
