What a shame.
I bought several games from them over the years. Unfortunately they stopped adding new retro games so I stopped paying much attention. Also, a "great" idea to push the store button to the top right, out of sight...
Anyway, I hope now that they close, GOG gets at least some of the games DotEmu has and GOG doesn't.
Sad to hear... a lot of these sites are going down.

jamyskis: probably Switch as well
Sooon! ;P

jamyskis: maybe even GOG if they can get their act together
They did an awesome promo in the past. Would love to see some "hey DotEmu kiddo don't be lonely, come to papa GOG" *cough* 75% off on all their games *cough* and all :D
Thanks for the warning. I already have everything safely backed up, but I'll double check for any updates.

This is one of the reasons why I always want DRM free.
DotEmu Connect - if only...

Ghorpm: The only game I care about is Transartica but it's safely backed up :)
HOW COULD YOU!
If you have Transarctica you should have bought the Silmarils Collection as well...which has STORM MASTER!

I swear those 2 games by Silmarils took away weeks of my life back in my youth.

I will have to look trough my Storage HDD if I have saved everything. Aside from those two games I had a Handfull classics (Warzon 2100, Darkstar One) which I bought there...back when I didn't know about GOG.....which gave me Battle Sile and Historyline 1914-1918 which was another time wastrer in my youth.

Sad to see dotemu shop go....steam is a giant, few dare try to topple....
Sorry to see it go, but as many have said, it is not entirely unexpected. If you aren't offering something different, there's not much reason to shop at your store then. For example, GOG started out with being about "good old games", then now, they are much better known for being about DRM-Free, where any games sold here would have to compulsorily leave all their DRM at the door, and it's not negotiable. Which is something quite different from anywhere else.

In other words, if I wish to purchase digital games in general, I go to straight to steam (since all games are there) or look around at the places with the highest key discounts, of which there are already quite a few. If I want them DRM-free with no exceptions, I stick to GOG. A half-way steam key reseller and DRM/Not quite DRM without a competitive edge doesn't hold much appeal.

oh yep

If this happens to be true (huehue), I'll gladly sing "It's a strange strange world we're Master Jack" or "Delarey" in a Karaoke nearby, drunk as heck, in your honour! :P

Too bad they only sent the email after buying had been disabled. More people should play Transarctica.

No fooling. Gotta wonder if they've been farming out their customer notification duties to gOg.
Even though I have an account there I didn't receive any notifications from them about the store closing. So thanks for the heads up!

Good thing I didn't buy a lot of stuff there, just Aliens VS Predator (which gog gave away as a freebie upon release a few weeks later) and the Nicky Boom pack. It's still unfortunate.
Another one.
I had A Vampyre Story, The Abbey and Fairy Tale about Father Frost, Ivan and Nastya in my wishlist, waiting for a sale there or something. Yes, just recently got into the store. Didn't know they were already dead but dreaming, but I suspected as much as they didn't had any new game for this couple of months I got there.

So, is there any other place with this games (and any other point&click adventures that GOG doesn't like, mainly from the forgotten years of adventure games) drm-free that anyone knows about?

I've just realised that you can still buy the Silmarils Collection from Amazon.
got the mail as well their store was really dead from the moment they started releasing games themselves on other platforms

I would have purchased two or three last minute games too. I guess the late email is just an example of why they are closing down.
