Hmm, i have nothing there. And after Dotemu, what was the other and desura, I'm starting to avoid anything that isn't GOG or if not available on GOG then Steam.

Besides these two, it's also safe to use this:

They won't need to close doors any time soon.
Well that blows... Shit I can't buy the IREM collection... I was actually thinking on getting it.. FFS

And that's why, ladies and gents, I put my hand on the gun when some dumb asshole talks about how much F*CKING CONVENIENT the "cloud" is....
low rated

Starmaker: Too bad they only sent the email after buying had been disabled. More people should play Transarctica.
avatar
jamyskis: I've just realised that you can still buy the Silmarils Collection from Amazon.
Well, *you* can. I'd be shit out of luck if I hadn't already bought it in 2011.

I very much subscribe to the "fuck the cloud" ethos but this has nothing to do with it. The games are DRM-free. People who bought them can still download them. The warning is sufficiently timely. Finally, those are game products that will be made available in some shape or form (ahem) elsewhere by dedicated collectors, rather than flash cartoons your kid made when s/he was four which are gone forever.

Grargar: Will IndieGameStand be the next one?
To be honest I'm amazed they're still afloat.
Sounds like GOG terk ther jerbs!

avatar
trusteft: Anyway, I hope now that they close, GOG gets at least some of the games DotEmu has and GOG doesn't.
See, I'm the opposite -- I hope GOG doesn't get any of their games, and GOG get all of them. : ]
EDIT: Never mind, I belatedly got what was meant by that sentence. :)

Time to download the few games they had. Though they had a couple like hardwar and Dungeon lords that gog did not release yet.
avatar
MaxFulvus: There was a lot of drm-free games with multilanguages which are not available on GOG, like Spellforce Platinum : (
avatar
jamyskis: Yeah, it's beyond me why Nordic won't add the original German version of Spellforce to GOG. The English translation is not particularly great.
Agreed. I took the language files from the original games and put them into my GOG version, works most of the time. Didn't finish the game, yet, but one merchant greeted me once in English and after that again in German. Same conversation, mind you. How multinational that merchant guy operates...

Added 8 minutes later:
And of course, thanks for the warning jamyskis. Never used DotEmu, but it will help prevent the people that did from getting a nasty surprise.

They did, and I got hardwar from them years ago, but I think some of them are no longer available for purchase.

Warzone 2100... got this one for free ;)
Thanks for telling us. I'm already downloading the games I have there (only a bunch of emulated Mega Drive games).

warzone 2100 has been free for years open source with updates now which is pretty neat. one of the best rts games that expand creation and zones.
