Pairing a game and movie of the exact same property is cheating. Angry Birds pairs well with Free Birds anyway: They want to not get (their eggs) eaten, so they use a slingshot/time travel to make that not happen.

Breja: Never even heard of the movie, but I am imrpessed you came up with something for The Sims, I did not expect that game to come up here :D
For The Sims, The Truman Show is an easy one that comes to my mind.

Anyway, The Sims’ genre naturally leans into the meta side of things. If we’re ok going down that path, then we’re diving straight into popular movie themes: simulated universes, higher entities controlling the world, questionable free will, predefined destinies, characters without real agency, and so on.

I mean, The Sims has nothing in common with, say, The Matrix. Nothing but that one idea. The characters in The Sims are living in their own Matrix, with the player taking on the role of God, pulling the strings and controlling their lives like puppets.
