Aningan: Need a bit of advice. To cover my 2 injured players I bought 2 new players for my last match. Now that my injured players are back I'm thinking of firing one longbeard with no SPP to decrease my TV. What do you guys think?
If you do this, what happens next time you suffer injuries?
Constant hiring & firing like this is an ideal way to drain your treasury.

Piranjade: If I had enough gold to hire a new one. But noooo, I have to replace players all the time.
avatar
Psyringe: That's his trick. He secures his job by intentionally doing it so badly that you won't have the money to replace him. Devious ... ;)
You dont have to be the best or even good at your job - just irreplaceable..

Cant remember how many players you have, but id say that dwarf team with 13 players for example is far from bloat.

If i was playing with dwarfs, id aim for 13-14 players.

Hey, you're playing against my Underworld team next. :-D I don't think you should be worried that much that you need to lower your team value to get inducements against me. But I appreciate the thought. :-D

Screaming Frogs vs Natural Disaster ended 1-1. Fair draw - both teams had chances to score a second time. The wood elves were pretty good at attacking the ball carrier throughout the match, so the lizards rarely had time to organize a breakthrough. However, they _did_ manage to maul the elves pretty badly, and in the end there just weren't enough woodies left to stop the equalizer. I still might have won if I hadn't done an unnecessary GFI, but after my very careful play in the last match ended in a 0-4 debacle, I decided to play a bit riskier this time. As it turned out, the riskier play earned me the lead _and_ the equalizer.

My team is now trying to get back in shape for the next match, which won't be easy. One of my catchers died, the other one would have died as well (but the Apo reduced it to a -MA, which is not a great result for a catcher either ...), one lineman also got a -MA, and Orlando managed to get his casualty in the very first block of the game and will miss the next match too. All that in a match in which I was mostly _avoiding_ direct contact when possible.

Nevertheless, it was a great match, with chances on both sides, some spectacular moves, and no team (dis)favoured by the dice. :)

Replay already posted by Viteklis, thanks! :)

My match against Psyringe ended with 1-1 tie.

I'll post replay here and now I am off to wash blood off hands of my entire team.
I managed to kill 2 Psyringe's players (1 was saved by apo), Smash hip of another one, Smash hand of another one, smash hand of yet another one and badly hurt one (of it it is saved death).
I think I neevr made more than 3 injuries until now and even that was probably only once and now this. It allowed to 2 of my players to level up. Including Kroxy who finally got to level 2 (this is only 2 match where he gained SPP and once again 4 at once). He will probably pick-up block now. :-)

I had a chance to score by the end of 1st half but when I needed to bash 2 players out of way, I got, with my now only saurus without block, attacker down and both down and the same on re-roll (I am not crying, I had luck elsewhere, but this really came in horrible moment). Thanks to it, Psyringe picked the ball and in one turn managed to get it out of my reach and then scored on turn 8.
In the other half he was running outof players but almost managed to score again and I only barely stopped it and then when he was down to 4 or 5 (and 3 of them were on the ground at the start of his turn) I scored on turn 15. Then there was almost nothing left to do, but I got Kick-off Blitz event and free turn as result so I sent my players forward. Unfortunately I miscounted it and when the match ended my skink was left standing one square from the touchdown line holding the ball, desperately staring at it.

Overall I think the draw was just.

EDIT: This is also second match in row where I forgot to move some players because I was too zoomed in and they were out of sight. :-)

Yeah and the snow arena is horrible. I had to move my screen over to injury box to see what was rolled.

They knew how hard your team would hit, so they left important parts in the changing room. ;)

I did exactly that. I had injured players, bought a new player to have one in case of a knocked out or injured player and now, after the injured players are back, have fired the 0 spp lineman again. After two player conceded the treasury was full anyway, so what. If you have the money, you can do it. I would not do it all the time, but as a emergency solution it's valid.

Yeah, I just saw your TV and mine. Getting rid of one longbeard won't do much in getting me that bribe I was looking for :)
