Psyringe: Btw, here's a question I wanted to ask the other coaches from the last season:

Since we all played new teams last season, did your new team fare as you expected? WHat surprised you about it, and did you learn something new about that team?

Obviously, I'm very positively surprised by the success of my 'zons. I knew that they are considered a strong team in low TV leagues, but I hadn't expected them to be _that_ strong. The thing that surprised me most was, probably, their versatility.

With all players having Dodge, I could play them like slightly clumsy elves against bashy teams (outrunning them when I had the ball, passing when the opportunity arose). And with four players having quick access to Guard (and everyone else taking Block as first pick), I could play them like slightly fragile dwarves against non-bashy teams. They don't really excel at either style, but being able to switch playing styles is an asset in itself, and having lots of cheap re-rolls helped mitigating the risks. I was probably a bit lucky with injuries, though having Dodge all around also helps with preventing those.

What was your impression of your team? :)
My team felt more like a slightly buffed Chaos team in some aspects and a very gimped Chaos team in others.

Buffed because of Disturbing Presence and Foul Appearance but gimped because of their lack of an actual apo and their tendency to have more injury rolls than normal due to Decay. I liked the aspect of turncoating someone's teammate by killing their player but since that didn't happen all that often, it was almost useless.

Another thing that I was hampered by was their somewhat shoddy MA, not to mention my lack of practice with the game in general. While the Nurgles can be a fun team, I still need tons of practice and level ups on that team to be somewhat effective.

tl;dr:

If you're gonna play Nurgles, make sure you know what you're doing :D

Mainosmies: We finished our match with duder. Result was 2-1 for Broken Hand Fetish.

BHF had one dead player. Didn't care to waste time of medic for MA5 lineman, so he had to go.
Last 2 turns of the match had bad Nuffle influence. Some 2+ checks seemed to be hard to pass.

Well, here's the replay: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dpmm2msg4h7j0p2/Weekly_S5_D1_R01_duder_Mainosmies.db

...there is actually still one '_' that should be '-', but never mind ive renamed it already and its soon on g-drive. ;)
Whew :) I managed to not completely embarass myself on the field and score a goal on an AGI team :) Psyringe played very well, as usual, taking full advantage of his team's high MA and AGI. The only reason I managed to score that one touch down is because I managed to knock out most of his players but otherwise he ruled the field. I still need to figure out a proper kick-off pattern because I got snookered when I tried to separate my so-called walls :)

Long story short, it was 2-1 for Psyringe :)

edit: sorry for the delay on our match, everyone.

Realrocker07: So from what it looks like i wont be able to play my game with EA This week; I've been gone all last week on vacation in California and Now i'll be gone this week for a Work Event until Friday afternoon.

Apologies to EA for the hassle.
check - no panic. set 1-0 for E_A

...and now we are on the matchday nro 2!
As Judas already mentioned, Natural Disaster won 2-1 against the Rioting Punks. It was a tough match, my players got knocked out faster than I could count. ;) The victory was mainly achieved due to a risky move by Greg Lake, who managed a blitz, pickup, two dodges, and a touchdown, all in the same turn.

My wardancers were next to useless in the match, Judas skillfully kept them out of play for the most part. Also, wardancer Amy Pond, part of the team since its inception, suffered a broken collar bone in addition to her broken neck from the legendary match against the Sewer Swappers a while ago. Originally she had planned to oversee the upcoming changes in the team and help the new players along, but with -AG and -ST she realized that she wouldn't be able to fulfill the demands of her role. She retires as a level 3 player after 27 matches, 6 touchdowns, 8 successful passes, and 246 yards gained with the ball.

Replay is here. I tried to upload the reply to the Google drive, but didn't manage to. Whenever I drag the file to the "move files here" area, Firefox seems to think that I want to open or download it. I also didn't see any other replay in the link provided for upload in the first post. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to install some Google client to make this work?

you should have rights to add the file to both the temp folder and S5 folder. just need to drag it to the folder. ...then again i have no idea if firefox can cause trouble :S

The link from the first post leads me to this page. It's labeled "BB temp". I don't see any folders or replay, just a single item which seems to be a text file labeled "drop replays here". When I drag a file to anywhere on the page, a Firefox popup asks me whether I want to "open" or "save" the file. Neither uploads the file to the drive.

Edit: It's not Firefox specific, the same thing happens n Opera.

I'm working on a decision for my prize. Tomorrow at the latest, today's kind of a busy one for me and I need a little time to think.

I'd go with Limbo.

Edit:Steam name: Vohaul
Not directly related to Blood Bowl, but nevertheless ... :

I just finished "Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure", the game that I picked from this season's prize pool. I am thoroughly impressed! For adventure fans, the game is well worth the 20$ asking price, even if you haven't played the previous Tex Murphy games before (I didn't either). Yes, it has its flaws, but the strengths definitely outweighed them for me. Indeed, the game has just convinced me that technology has progressed to a state where FMV, real-life actors, and greenscreen technology can be used in games in aesthetic and intereresting ways.

Thanks again, Judas, for donating this game! :)
my manlings and hawks halflings are probably going to meet on the pitch on saturday, starting somewhere around 21-00 finnish time.
