There's already a list of donators. It existed for a very long time.
And it doesn't change what I said, every single point still standing.
Some people can't donate - putting them on a list reminding them of that certainly isn't "fun" to them - maybe it's fun to YOU, with different perspective, but not to them...

BenKii, I repeat myself like a broken record, but, the Tier 1 of the list isn't the biggest problem.
It's Tier 2, being bigger problem, and Tier 3 being even more problematic...

In my opinion, you should have pushed this as an idea and then collect feedback - instead you decided to give less than 12 hours notice ( 0 hours if we go by "first timezone that is already in 1st May", which is certainly a kind of logic YOU yourself used before already for SOME "starting new month" posts... ).

Your actions have consequences.

You may bee too innocent to get the point... "society" as a whole is not as clean as you, it's a long scale, bad apples included. You should NEVER set "good people" as "baseline behaviour" - that's a recipee for disaster...

I would also count this as just some bit of fun.
And for anyone paying attention it was always clear who is donating and who not, just by the post people make thanking the donors for the game, the donor list etc.

Ask for a game from the giveaway, slap the host and the donors immediately in response. That's nice of you.

Also - immediatelly my a** - if you pay attention I only sent out criticism after BenKii posted his PSA, which he did in the same post he granted me Amazon key for - which has been an 1 hr + after my initial key request.

I couldn't possibly tell either way - I hardly read requests these days, and I have been on and off the 2 threads for ages, including months long breaks sometimes. While some names pop-up a lot, I wouldn't personally know...

Also, do we count "most rejected requests per requests done" ? lol ( that's a jab at the "I made account X days ago, had zero activity, and jumped straight into giveaway" clear cut alt account or "want free s**t" posts ofc )

It's not important, any hypothetical metric that you care to consider would do; it's not a legitimate request, but simply a facetious way to suggest that the same principle applied in reverse seems self-evidently problematic in the ways you described for the list of donors.

Well yeah - making a "list" of "giftees X keys activated" would be nearly equally problematic. That should go without saying... I wouldn't condone such list either...

The list of taken keys contains some interesting statistical data about games and game-bundles.

It can help benefactors determine, which games to purchase for their donation. There are really good games, which have been rarely or never available on the Community Giveaway.

In addition to a key counter, I would add the date, when particular game was on giveaway the last time.

The list of benefactors for each game, however, can be left out ( if it requires too much work to maintain )

As for the leader-board in question, it is confusing in the current state.

Every person on the list has donated at least one game to the Community Giveaway. But counter shows "0" instead.

I suggest to archive the previous list of giveaway benefactors in its original form, without a counter. And start the leader-board in a new separate file.

The date of the transition to a new format should be stated explicitly in both files to prevent any confusion.

I've only donated 15 or so keys to the giveaway (and also benefited mightily from a Starred win) but I can assure you I couldn't care less if my handle remains at '0' for the rest of time. I find it strange you'd attach so much importance to this ranking as someone who's stated before they're not online much and have bigger priorities. I firmly believe the vast majority of well balanced folks would agree that this is perfectly harmless and trivial, particularly considering its voluntary nature (perhaps BenKii could routinely ask people on their first donation if they wish to feature on the leaderboard–thus making it clear to all the list isn't remotely definitive of anything).

If you truly believe some pathologically attention starved person out there would buy a giant stack of game gift codes to "win" kudos on a google docs spreadsheet, linked from a single post on the community forums of a niche digital distribution platform, then more power to them! More games for everyone and I'd happily thank them on everyone's behalf.

I also agree that it's interesting you demand civility when when your post is pretty hostile and pejorative.
