I am reasonably far from sober and it makes perfect sense to me. It actually loses something in translation. When you try to cut away at something and squeeze it into the mould you want it to fit you take away the thing's character. And when that thing is someone as lovely as Fairfox, why would you want to?

Here is my observation:

Positive: Postal 2 got a lot of free publicity

Negatives: Reviving GG drama, pissing off both sides of GG (also known as customers), postal 2 is not GOG exclusive so less incentive to get it from GOG.

My original view of GOG was that it was a tough little company, now it seems weaker than the competition. Not very good PR, all in all.

Honestly, as a serious business GOG should be as neutral as possible in any situation. Letting their PR pick up a side in that "controversy" was the worst course of action. If you can't handle this kind of situation, stop entirely using social media or, at least, hire a decent PR.

Except that "Social Justice Warriors" don't give a shit about social justice for the vast majority of people, when do you seem them talking about working conditions, labor unions, wages and so on? It's always shit about queer and transgender, which are a tiny, tiny percentage of the population. They are an embarrassment to the "real" left.

I'm part of a union and I constantly complain about working conditions and wages of workers. I also complain about discrimination against "homos" and "trannies", because people getting treated badly is stuff I care about. Heck, if you ever interacted with any leftists you'd probably find much the same story. It's easy to see whatever overall story you want to see if you're only looking at part of the picture.

Also, globally the amount of "homos" and "trannies" is about the same as the proprortion of native English speakers. I definitely think we should ignore all the people whose first language is English and start listening to other people for a change. (There are around 360M native English speakers out of a world population of 7.6B, which is about 4.7% of the world population.)

So very sorry to burst your bubble, the stuff you care about is not the stuff everybody cares about, it's just sad that GOG just invited a political agenda pushing group into their own gaming ecosystem, something even Valve has been crafty in avoiding. Gamers care about games, not political parties nor political agenda pushing gaming media.

I think it's cute that you think you're blowing my mind by saying really bland and unspired things like "the stuff you care about is not the stuff everybody cares about". You don't even respond to the context of my comment, it's just thrown in as a generic line.

I don't think I've ever held any claim to "ultimate truth", and I'm not taking any of this stuff anywhere near as serious as you guys are. This is all a big joke to me, this whole thing is stupid and I'm laughing at it.

Also, you talk about gamers like I'm not a part of that group. I wrote the StrategyWiki articles for the final parts of Ecco the Dolphin* and contributed to their guide on Zelda II. I play games, I play old games, and I beat games which are regarded as tough.

(* It literally has a five and a half minute sidescrolling shooter section, where getting hit at all will kill you and you're attempting to traverse a maze with plenty of dead ends. If you die, you have to start all over again. And if you finish, you get to the final boss, who will probably kill you immediately. And then you have to do the previous level all over. Oh, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the stuff that came before it. Totally different gameplay.)
