udienowplz: For people who seem to not care about this, you sure have to have your posts in each one. Egos are funny like that, don't you think?
avatar
Breja: >Shrug< I kinda care about the forum, though not nearly as much as I used to, not about this nonsense "scandal". And making a post or two making fun of this shit doesn't require much time, unlike all the ongoing arguments and epic rants.

avatar
udienowplz: In lighter news I'm actually going to a board game night this weekend!
avatar
Breja: Cool! What will you be playing?
I'd recommend letting it blow over, as this just stokes the fire, but you do you.
Admittedly I haven't tried Betrayal, yet. And its whatever we feel like at the time, really.
The group introduced me to deck-building on a previous occasion, through DC and Street Fighter. Surprisingly fun!

Betrayal at the House on the Hill? Dude, you NEED that in your life... so good...
avatar
udienowplz: I'm not sure that would be the precise thing, but its fair to draw that conclusion (I'm sure a lot of pro-GGers did, and honestly, understandably). I think they basically say that developers should stop marketing their games towards gamers (interestingly) because its problematic and just not worth it. Whereas instead you should strive for diversity and inclusion. Which is objectively not the worst idea, but its presented much too harshly to me and is not without its problems (ME: A). Thus ignited the culture wars.

Megabyte: Well, there is that, but there is also there were what, 16 of them? All posted in the same day? It wasn't so much a "gamer genocide" as basically the game-journo community telling the people in the hobby they write fot to collectively "eat shit." It showed the gamers exactly where they stand with them, and THAT was the gasoline poured on the bonfire
It was definitely bizarre seeing all that happen at once. I haven't read those sites in a while because frankly, they're just not that interesting. Friends, edit: forums and YTers are the next big thing.

Don't I know it. As if my VG backlog isn't bad enough...

Yeshu: It's about GOG PR bowing down to a journalists Hit peace article and apologizing for doing nothing wrong. Also showing of there lack of knowledge on the subject of GamerGate, calling a hashtag movement for upholding ethics in gaming journalism abusive and hateful.

Basically they have bean lied about and force to apologize and accept being guilty for doing nothing wrong. Which they did post haste. They could have just ignored it.
And you know what the worst part is? I was the one who read the manual, so it's all my fault we played it wrong. I mean, it was still a lot of fun and all, but I still feel kinda bad about it :P I'll feel lika such an idiot explaining it the next time we play.

I remember looking at that one recently. Looks fun, but it would fail miserably with my friends. We have the worst poker faces ever. When we tried playing Battlestar Galactica it was downright embarrasing. Funny, sure, but absolutely pointless :D

You can drop the "I'm above this!" act. You can just ignore these threads and wait till it fizzle out like most drama on the net.

Now excuse me, I'm gonna go play Scythe.

I've seen a lot of hype around this one. I'm not sure what the big deal is?

Gog caved like a cheap lawn chair where they should have taken a stand. Fuck the outrage peddlers, they aren't your customers.

Good call... personally, I'll voice my disappointment here, but Im not going anywhere over a stupid tweet or GOG being mislead about an event from 4 years ago. Right now, however, I basically came to look in on the chaos before firing up an episode of Voltron and making dinner. Ill be on the service later opening up Saints Row 2 for the first time seriously (I already have a little time on it making sure it would work DESPITE the condition of the port)

GamerGate as a movement hardly even exists anymore. It has become a games journalist boogieman. Every single time something goes wrong for them, GamerGate is behind it. Trump elected into office? It was GamerGate. Gamers don't want to buy some shitty anti-game? It was GamerGate. Soylent bottle cork is on too tight to open? It was GamerGate.

It's a literal conspiracy theory at this point. I'm upset about how GoG is being a spineless mollusk and I have nothing to do with GamerGate. It's just very hard to trust a corporation that deals in selling video games but at the same time dances to the tune of people who hate video games and everyone who happens to play them.

I think the word you were looking for is "folded".
avatar
ashtonx: Honestly i'm kind of wondering if he ain't sjw shill.
avatar
PoppyAppletree: Congratulations, you've turned SJWs into a conspiracy theory.
LOL sadly shit like that ain't surprising to me.

Reason I think is simple. It's clear pr didn't know what it did., as such person researched and prolly got to Wikipedia which is quite biased or some magazines which are side in the conflict. As such info he/she got was prolly biased.. Then the person insulted other side while making an apology... Most likely not realizing what whole drama was about.

Calling for the person's head for being ignorant is typical sjw move. I can see people calling for price head as she abused her position and attacked based on gender. Here however is simple lack of knowledge.

That said gog will prolly lose one side for publicly attacking them, as I said before I don't see them backing out of apology and there's no way they can stay neutral at this point.

But even so, whether person is fired or not is not the issue here.

Lucian_Galca: Just ride out the storm. It'll be rough, but it will pass.

amok: yeah, I think the 7 people who still care about gamergate has made a thread each now, so it will end soon
Wouldn't that make you one of the people who still care, seeing as you just posted about it?

dark___devil: Hahahahahahaha apparently GoG PR group is part of ResetEra,the most vile and biggoted forum on the net,the worst thing is that they pretend to some kind of saints :).

Here is a pic of some GoG pr guy talking about it.

https://i.imgur.com/VXSSFMU.jpg

Also read and archive fast guys, this thread will get nuked fast just like the last one. It is real shame that GoG mods are deleting threads because they feel offended,oh well those are the times we live in.

ashtonx: No um, as much as i hate that move from gog you're just having cognitive processing issues..

Anyone can make an account, and people in industry can get something like verified status easily.. it doesn't mean his part of resetera mod group.

Rather gog already started cleaning fact this topic isn't closed shows there's no intention.
I have no idea why are you calling him a part of the reset moding group. I just pointed out that it have an account. I do know that everyone could just pretend to be something that he is not. But judging on their actions i am pretty sure that this one is legit. Also they already deleted at least one thread about this so called drama.

The fact that GoG team members use ResetERA pretty much says everything you need to know about how they operate
