Harebrained Schemes have announced their new game: "GRAFT" - "a post-cyberpunk survival horror RPG".

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhQZYJkfe8w

The art style is definitely giving off "Shadowrun" vibes...though it does seem to be real-time?
(I'd definitely prefer turn-based)

Unfortunately, a GOG release is apparently not planned.

Well...money saved, I guess.

In today's crowded market we need your help to build the game's discoverability throughout development. By wishlisting and sharing the news about the game, you're supporting our return to indie dev.
@dev: If you only go to the biggest, most crowded marketplace, then you get exactly that situation. *shrug*

I really liked their Shadowrun games, especially Dragonfall, but as soon as I read the words "survival horror" I was out. That's just not my cup of viscera.

Have no opinions on the game but that trailer's track got Rachel Hardy on my radar so it's already a win.
EGS and Steam are both full of many premium tier games, therefore HBS will always have problems with achieving "discoverability" on those stores, since HBS games are a far cry for being premium tier games.

Whereas on GOG, HBS games are a significant step-up from the typical trash tier indie games that GOG releases as a matter of course on an almost daily basis.

Therefore, releasing on GOG on day one - and advertising that as being so, starting right now - would be HBS' best possible way to "boost discoverability" of their new game. Yet they aren't doing that, LOL!

Got wonder about some of these companies that say no to release on GOG.
Too lazy to just rip Steamworks from the game?.
Harebrained has just sent out an update e-mail.

At the moment, they're trying to finish a vertical slice (which basically is a short playable, complete section/level of the game to get a feel for how it plays), and they have some new screenshots out (which they promptly uploaded to their Steam page).

Somehow I get the feeling we won't see a finished game before 2026/2027.

It's of course very diffult to make out particularly from mostly pitch black screenshots, but I'm almost convinced the game will play like a Resident Evil game with an RPG like character progression system, more complex story/characters, and interactive story elements.

I'd play that!

... if it's on GOG. ;)

Set up a game page here, folks!

If the tear off body parts mechanic is really, graphically, implemented, you can safely assume that a release in Germany is not planned ...

The new Dreamlist page: https://www.gog.com/dreamlist/game/graft (51 more votes to get back to where it was on the Wishlist).
This looks great. I loved the Shadowrun titles they made, wish-/dreamlisted in a heartbeat. Please get on it, GOG.
I enjoyed Dragonfall quite a lot. Hong Kong and Returns not nearly as much, but nevertheless I'll be keeping an eye out for this one. Thanks for the heads up!

Nah...I don't share that pessimism.
The USK has come a long way.
We get a lot to see these days, that we wouldn't have been shown 30 years ago (without exchanging red color with green).
And if it's only shown as far away as seen in the trailer?
And the details get presented in the same (comic like) graphic style as shown in the trailer?
No problem.

Well, the game's a good while off anyway, and for some reason a day one release on gog doesn't seem to be planned ... let's worry about that first. ;)
I kind of agree with Breja. Survival horror is generally not my thing. But then it really depends on what they mean by it. It can be a rather broad term and can mean many different things and levels of both "survival" and "horror". But I suppose it is all academic anyway if it isn't coming to GOG.

I really just want Harebrained to make another Shadowrun game. I did hear that there are some pretty good user made campaigns for the Shadowrun game. Maybe I should just look into those. But then I have so many other games to play.

Unfortunately there won't be any more Shadowrun games from Harebrained. The studio said so themselves. The IP, in addition to their latest game, is now owned by Paradox, AFAIK. Let’s hope Graft turns out to be the success they need to stay afloat and to keep going.

I wasn’t happy about the Paradox deal then, and I’m definitely not happy now. Harebrained is such a kick-ass studio and they ran the best Kickstarter campaigns on the planet.

Edit: I just voted for https://www.gog.com/dreamlist/game/graft
