wolfsite: In this situation they are not sharing, he clearly states he pays for the use of the game.
I believe he said his brother(if I read it right) buys the game, and then he pays him back for it.....which I admit seems odd/confusing......I mean why couldn't he buy the games himself?

Idea(musing/spitballing here): Maybe he only has cash and no other payment method?

wolfsite: Also we don't know they are living in the same household. Plus like most people have said this is more than likely a troll.
We don't know if they are, but they might be.....and others did say that.....still, just because people say something doesn't make it so, and also people tend to call anyone a troll for all sorts of reasons(and as such I take such labels with a grain of salt).

Sure, OP might be any number of things, but without knowing what's going on I think assuming bad actions at the get go isn't a wise course of action(in general I mean).

BINGO!!!

I've never had a credit card. Applied for credit at Lowe's and was turned down because I have no credit rating.

I'm the only person in this residence. The nasty comment from the Smart Donkey.... throw the book at him. I was probably in Vietnam fighting for his freedom maybe even before he was oven borne.

Is it just c coincidence that my home town is Garrison and my last name is Ison? descended from Erich Ibson, an ancient Islandic warrior.

I don't like harping on old comments, but isn't it strange that an online host world say a game, sold by GOG, has used the serial too many times?

Strange, not really. Disappointing, yes very much. The multiplayer portion of many GOG games is not DRM-free.

Question: Why don't you have him send you gift codes(via email or over the phone or some other way) for the games you pay for?

Then he could buy the games and gift the codes to you(via the above methods) and you could add them to your own account?

Nice story(I mean it)....but be careful what you reveal online....you don't want other bad types getting it and using it in bad ways.

If your brother also used the same serial key then it would be marked as in use....in order to use the same game on two PCs(yours and your brother's PCs) you'd need to pay for and buy two game copies.

This can be done by him buying one copy for his account, and then you paying him money to buy a gift code to send to you for you to add to your own account.
Huh? A guy owning zero games is complaining about games he doesn`t own and he doesn`t even tell what problems he has with the games he doesn`t own?
Well, now I can die in peace, because I`ve seen everything now!
our profile shows zero (0) games. Even if you've paid to your brother, that doesn't link the games on your account, if there has been no gift code change. Ergo, you don't, from the point of view of GOG, or any other company for the matter, own anything, as the games are linked on someone else's, in this case, your brothers, account.

So, no matter how many claims you make, GOG doesn't have to do a damn thing, as they can clearly see that you don't own anything. The hole you are in is one you've dug yourself.

How come the smart donkey comments always come from some one that's never or hardly ever signed in. Let me clarify something. The game Two Worlds 2 velvet edition is fine off line. There's seriously something wrong with the server hosting multi play. I may be wrong but shouldn't GOG contact the server for multi play and find out why I can't ever create a new multi play account. And please, GOG, can't you do something about smart donkeys and assumers from infesting this site?

I could go to the bank and get a debit card and put something in the wallet. And YOU are still assuming... my brother did not use the game in any way. All he did was order it and left it up to me to download it with his account. geesh.... why are there so many inteligenter arsch's unwilling to see and think only what they want to? You cannot and never will pull me down to your infinitesimal level.

@Keith_12:
One question: Why didn`t you make an own account and let your brother simply gift the games to you?

GameRager: Many times here people on GD(and staff as well iirc) have said it's ok for family to share games in the same household.
I kind of already assumed this was the case, but he's admitted that he isn't in the same household so that "concession" doesn't really apply here. He's just straight up sharing his brother's account, which isn't great.

I guess I'm wondering why he even made the account he's using here if he just downloads games from his brother's account? And why didn't his brother send him gift codes? The number of ridiculous things here, I am starting to be convinced by the suggestion that he's just a troll.
It's just that this case could have solved long ago if he just wanted to, if the account holder contacted GOG and then TopWare and provided necessary details/screenshots this could all have been solved already but i guess he doesn't want to or is hiding something.

As for server problems then contact whoever is hosting it/TopWare and ask for new key/redeem code. He wonder why everyone is assuming things but that is because every issue he has is just played around it while making contradicting statements.

If you want it solved then take action otherwise by all means continue, good day.

GOG doesn't host the multi player, even if they did the serial key is under another account so legally they can do nothing for you since you do not own the game regardless if you gave someone else the money since the game is not registered to your account.

If a CD key is shown to be used more than once the key will get blocked as it is seen as an illegal key by server if it has already been redeemed by another person, again GOG can do nothing about this since they do not control the MP servers (that is handled by the publisher of the game) and the key belongs to another account.

So what you're saying, since the game was purchased by someone else from GOG and I was successful creating a multi play account, that is the only time I can do it?

Here's a thought: GOG could try creating a multi play account for a game, then intentionally not furnishing a password, then try creating a new multi play account for that game. If GOG has the same problem that I had, would that not be a case of selling games that were a one shot deal? and the multi play creation screen with correct user name just keeps displaying the message about being over used.

OK, now I get it

tehpap review

The developer has the online portion of the game locked off behind a serial key, this wouldn't be too bad but then they add a limited amount of uses for this key. So if you try to install the game a second time at a later date, good luck getting that to work. The game helpfully advertises that you can purchase a new key right there.

So I still at least need to know what my password was in the original installation. I've contacted Topware, now the waiting.

Well that does make sense. The serial isn't so much a serial as it is a code you redeem to get an account. You're not supposed to make a new account every time you install the game any more than you'd expect to make a new Steam account to reinstall your copy of the Orange Box or whatever. If you could use your code to register multiple accounts then they might as well not have the code.

If there's no "I forgot my password" procedure to get your Topware account back that does seem like a big shortcoming on their part.

I just got a reply from DETLEF BARFKNECHT at Topware. He says without a password, he can't help. If I could somehow remember the password I wouldn't need his help. D U H

Anyhow, I've ordered a debit card from my bank. I'll fatten up the GOG wallet and try from that route.
