Geneforge (RPG) seems to be mouse-friendly. Except for entering a save game name, so far everything I've seen can be done with just a mouse.

Good luck on the surgery, and especially the recovery.

Uggg... while you can play with one hand... it's far easier with two, namely one stabilizing a controller and the other moving the stick. Although you could do keyboard too.... 3 buttons total.
Strategy and Role-playing you say?

How about

HoMM3
Disciples 2
AoW3
Its not on GOG, but I'll take any opportunity to suggest Critical Mass. http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/critical.html Its pure awesome. There is a demo, so you can try before you buy. Your cool with permadeath, right?
I would definitely second the recommendation for MOO 1&2! Too bad it just went off sale. :(

Other great suggestions here that I would second: HoMM3, Disciples 2, Civ III or IV, Age of Wonders series.

I enjoyed Settlers 2, but it is RTS not TBS so don't know if it might be a bit difficult to keep up with if you aren't able to use your usual dominant hand.

If you like strategy rpg and are wiling to try something a bit different from the norm some time look into:
Thea: The Awakening
It's turn-based and surprised me at how many hours I spent enjoying it. With random maps and gods to choose from it is also replayable. Unfortunately it's not on sale atm.
Blackguards
Many thanks for all of your help.
I've already purchased and downloaded MoO,
Also have put a few on my wish list.
Panzer General may be closest to my type of game.
I don't know if many of you are familiar with Medieval Warfare II.
I found this to be one of the most satisfying game on all points. Relative to my gaming style of course.
No longer playable on MS operating systems.
If any of you that may have "been there done that" know of any GoG game that approaches MWII please let me know.
Three more days to surgery.
Trying to get used to using my left hand.
Cheers!
I can't even find any info on Medieval Warfare 2.

As for Panzer General, have you played Fantasy General, Fantasy Wars, and/or Elven Legacy?

You also might like Sovereignty: Crown of Kings. It's not on GOG though.

While checking out Patrician, I found "Silent Service" A game of my misbegotten youth.
Put that in my cart.
Atlantic Fleet looks good too.
Good second bests to knocking out medieval walls.
