I'm looking for games like LA Noire or the old Win 3.1.1 game called "In the First Degree"

I had my eyes locked on Missing since January (in Memoriam) but looking at the gameplay videos it's more like puzzle game instead of LA Noire/In the First Degree style (interrogation, collecting evidence, etc). And the game is really really hard to find anywhere.

I did play Sherlock Holmes games, but turn out it's also not quite what I'm looking for. I've played Police Quest series too back then, but this is closer to Sierra's classic adventures.

I'm fine with older games, that is why I'm in GOG in the first place BTW.

Any suggestion? Thank you in advance!

The suggested list so far :

GOG
Her Story GOG
Cognition GOG
Tender Loving Care GOG
Late Shift GOG
Post Mortem GOG

Steam
Contradiction : Spot the Liar
Return of the Obra Dinn
The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker
The Shapeshifting Detective
The Murder Mystery Machine
Visitor
Late Shift
Tender Loving Care

?
Golden Gate Killer
Versailles 1685
Law and Order Dead on the money

Her Story

One of the best games I've played!
Phoenix Wright is an entire series of crime solving games.
Cognition an Erica Reed Thriller is really good if you like the drama

Heavy Rain on PS3 was excellent. Still Life is a decent point click, some of the puzzles are hard though
The Law & Order PC games. It's a series (I think about 5 games) and it's based on the characters of the famous TV series. I bought the first one Law & Order - Dead on the Money many years ago and thought it was great, a pure adventure game based on investigating crime scenes & taking evidence to take a case in court.

I loved Contradiction - Spot the Liar! and I think you might too.
I back up all the previous suggestions, and I'd like to throw in a recommendation for Return of the Obra Dinn and the Tex Murphy series as well. A little Google searching also turned up this, which might interest you:

Edit: You might also like Detective Case and Clown Bot in: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon if you want something with a more humorous spin.

Sidenotes you should probably know:
- Her Story and Return of the Obra Dinn have no real collection of evidence, you're more or less revealing a story and trying to piece together what happened.
- If you like the Phoenix Wright series, try Aviary Attorney.
- Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller is more of a general point-and-click instead of a more in-depth thing like you're talking about (the fact you didn't like the Sherlock Holmes games - I'd be curious to hear which exact ones you played - tells me you're looking more for some kind of court simulator).

Check this thread : https://www.gog.com/forum/general_archive/about_sleuth_games

And solve that one : https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_case_of_the_glass_container/page1
If you're willing to get old games working then some of the old Cryo Interactive games like Versaille 1685 if you like historical crime/mystery adventures. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versailles_1685

Maybe The Last Express fits the bill as well.

Additional: If you like puzzles more than the drama, procedure and logic, then might I suggest the Layton series of games?
I've got one!

More detective noir than puzzle. You might like this.

It also relied a lot on the internet to work and it's servers have been shut down but this site claims to be making the game playable again.

I loved Raven: A Legacy of a Masterthief which now has a re-mastered edition. Another point and click I know

How about some Tex Murphy games? Even Gabriel Knight and Broken Sword games involve investigations. Hector Badge of Carnage is a comedic detective investigation in the style of TV series Life on Mars.

Again all adventure point and click puzzle games
It's not like L.A. Noir exactly but the best detective games I ever played were the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective games. They required real deductive skills and really felt like you were solving a mystery. They may be an aquired taste though since they are the old FMV style games that came out with the advent of cd-rom. I have been hoping the games make it here at some point. They started remastering them and releasing single episodes on Steam but I haven't heard anything about them coming here.
