InSaintMonoxide: For me it only popped up with Cyberpunk 2077 and never again after that. Maybe it just pops up once if you have an account on GOG?
Once per session.

There's a new cookie parameter called gog_wantsmaturecontent that gets set to 18 once you confirm it on that screen.

GOG being GOG. I mean guys, you have my credit card info... do you want a sample of my gray beard hairs too to know I'm over 17?

And maybe next time I visit the site I'm gonna grow younger, amiright?

Well while being mostly useless, it does resolve any responsibility on GOG's behalf.
I'm not happy about about this new needless annoyance crap.

On the other hand, if it means GOG is finally going to stop banning most AO games from being sold on its store, then it's a worthy tradeoff.

I thought that ALL not AO video games are rated for 17+ max, and maturity starts from 18 or 21 years, but what do I know.

The warning doesn't pop up if you have a GOG account longer than 17 years... ;)

I guess it depends on the country. It showed 18+ for me.

Ah yes Pan European Game Information (PEGI) has PEGI 18 rating classification for adult games. I meant that I thought that literally *every* game which is not for Adults Only has rating more than 17+, and yes in some countries some specific actions like substance consumption (meds and drugs) in Fallout games might be considered a no-go in Australia. I still remember having trouble with Carmageddon 2 game with zombies and green blood because our local *distributors* decided to provide the UK version, thank goodness Glide patch US got me covered.

But seriously I can't believe that the game for which you received such warning has PEGI 18 if you get my meaning. What game it is by the way, I'll look it up for be certain.

P.S. Some wording edit.

Mr.Mumbles: I was just going to check out the Genesis Alpha One store page when I got this "mature content" warning. That's the first time I've ever seen this, so I assume this is new? *shrug*
German here. I checked that store page. No warning for me.

I looked at Cyberpunk, because it was already mentioned before.

Well, you might be using your dad's credit card, and a fake beard...

I didn't see the warning on either Genesis Alpha One (which I actually just bought) nor the STALKER store pages, and I don't recall seeing the warning before either.

Anyway since you can lie in that warning page, I presume it is just for legal protection for GOG, in case you get severe trauma for the mature content in some game. Then GOG doesn't go to jail for it, but you do, for getting the trauma. You go to a juvenile prison for traumatized delinquents.

Oh yes, it's mature indeed. I just played today and saw a spectacular advert on a bill board showing a good looking fully naked woman. This and some other things might not be suitable for kids, no doubt.

Cyberpunk is definitely a game I wouldn't want young kids playing.
Hmm, so this is why GOG was suddenly OK with selling Agony and Succubus. They actually implemented an age confirmation.

Haven't encountered it yet. Probably depends on where you live.

I find the suggestion that anyone here is mature hilarious.
