As for The Saboteur: Have you tried this fix:
https://www.gog.com/forum/the_saboteur/game_does_not_start_at_all/post29

It is also known that some games from the past decade require Legacy Physx libraries. I'm not sure if this is the issue for The Saboteur though.

Snake616: Ok the new problem I ended up having with Soldier of Fortune Payback is the same problem I've been having with Delta Force Xtreme. I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and changed Vsync and Frame Rate in order to fix SoF again. Figured I'd go ahead and try that with Delta Force just to see if it worked and the damn thing started working. I wasn't having the minimizing problem with SoF before so I didn't know the same fix would fix Delta Force.

Tried changing Vsync for Saboteur and Rogue Squadron as well for the hell of it but that didn't work for those. Rogue Squadron just instantly closes itself now (even after putting all the settings back) and I still get the same error message for Saboteur.

nightcraw1er.488: Odd, exactly what does it do. You install the game from the installers, to something like c:/mygames/saboteur. The. Double click on the shortcut on your desktop (or from the exe in the install location) without galaxy running in background, and what happens?

Edit: if it is just minimised, can you press alt +tab? If you hold alt and then press tab this cycles through the open applications.

Snake616: Even when I right click and close Galaxy through that menu in the task bar (no idea what that's called) it will still automatically open whenever I try starting the game from anywhere.

I just went and double checked the offline installs on the website and I'm not sure what I downloaded yesterday. There were only 2 downloads there and now it's showing 3. Gonna try these again.
Yes, so under offline installers there is three files:
setup_the_saboteur_1.3_hotfix(22140).exe
setup_the_saboteur_1.3_hotfix(22140)-1.bin
setup_the_saboteur_1.3_hotfix(22140)-2.bin

I just downloaded these, and installed to c:/mygames/sabotuer.
Ran straight up. I do note above poster mentioned PhysX, I have this installed, though don't think it is needed from this game. Machine is gaming laptop 8 core, with nvdia 1060.

Oh, Galaxy is an app which runs in the background. You can control + Alt + del, and stop the service if needs be.

Ok I don't know what changed but Galaxy no longer automatically starts when I try opening the game. Still get the same error though.

I don't know how or why it only showed me 2 downloads for the game yesterday.

I did try that yesterday but it didn't work. Also downloaded and installed PhysX from Nvidia to see if that worked and, unless I need to go though and change some settings, it did not.

What’s the error exactly, what happens, does a screen come up, play the intro movie? Do you get an error message. Also check direct play is enabled:
https://windowsreport.com/enable-directplay-windows-10/

Can’t think of anything other than that. If that doesn’t work, contact support and put in a ticket. They should be able to help.

I was talking about the Legacy PhysX, not the new one. But again, it might be not relevant to your issue.

I thought I had posted the error but I guess I didn't. It says "The Saboteur is unable to continue due to an error initializing your graphics hardware." Nothing plays when I try starting the game. A box quickly pops up like the game is starting but it instantly closes and is replaced by the error box.

That’s suggests to me something wrong with directx or your graphics cards. I would open a support ticket, and you will need to supply a text file dump of your system. To do this go to your start menu and in the run box type dxdiag. It will produce detailed system information with which support can diagnose your issues. I will be home to,Oreos so can check it on a 3080, but I don’t think that is the issue, I think it’s your machine/drivers.

Cool, support are generally pretty good here.
