I want Goat Simulator 2, dammit!

DadJoke007: That was already implied with the games you mentioned. My question was: Why do games with that kind of style and humor only have a place in the past?

Darvond: It's not easy to explain in such a logical manner; but to gently put it, it comes down to the winds changing; akin to how most jokes from the 1920 wouldn't land today and we'd consider them bizarre relics.

Basically, culture has changed, while a former icon like Duke Nukem would have no relevance.
Imagine the look on your face when the winds shift again and you get a snootfull of the foul stench of your charming little generation. lol

Perhaps we should make a petition to get Postal 4 on GOG.

The 1990s? I think that already occurred.

No, it's exactly people that were born in 80s and 90-s shape the modern culture. And people who are in their teens now are not happy with it.

If that's so, where are the bright colors, flat tops, tech decks, and frosted tips?

Where's the ramen hair, obnoxious loud colors, and tiny finger skateboards?

Too edgy, offensive and oppressing, I imagine. So all those were removed. By the most vocal and influential far-left millenials out there.

You missed out on little.

All I've seen in gaming computers is hideous greens and reds. That leaves a lot of the spectrum.

hedwards: The game is really for a certain kind of player. It's better to think of Postal II as being a sandbox game before anybody really knew what a sandbox game was. There's something rather satisfying about gunning down an entire marching bad when I'm having a bad day.

As far as being forgettable, isn't that like virtually all games of the era? How many of them do people really remember that aren't by iD or 3d Realms? You'll probably run out of titles rather quickly as the bulk of the remainder are Unreal.

clarry: I mean if we're talking late 90s to early 2000s, that includes titles like System Shock 1-2, Deus Ex, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Operation Flashpoint, Soldier of Fortune 1-2, Strife, MOHAA, RTCW, Vietcong, Half-Life, NOLF, Counter-Strike... pretty memorable, I'd say. And I think Postal 2 is quite memorable too; as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing wrong with being memorable for eggy humour and generally a different (sandboxy) approach to gameplay.
That's still an extremely short list of games, several of which I'd never even heard about until recently and several more that I haven't thought of in years.

But, even granting all of those, it's still a pretty short list of games for the time period.
