lol Stuff, you are just awesome.
Miaghstir: A couple of weeks ago I was at a medieval faire in a nearby town, and as part of that I visited this fire show and decided to check the result of setting the camera's shutter speed to one second or so. One of the several result is this. Keep the experimentation going. :)
My picture was taken at a Renaissance Fair (Minnesota) as well. It always is very hard to get something decent since there are gazillions people all around.

Bump. I have been inactive lately, but I'm sure some of you have pictures to share. :)

Interestingly (and I can't find the link now) I recall reading that one of the big heads of the photo stock market predicts that its a market that will self destroy itself as the prices being paid for are not enough to support photographers working for stock. (there are one or two exceptions but as a general rule this is proving to be more and more true).
But anyway away from all that and some photos; not taken many recently myself, so been raiding the archives of unedited stuff;

Plus a few more recent ones:

ps in that last one its head is less than 1mm in size - probably close to the thickness of the mm line on a ruler!

Hopefully things will work out and I'll become rich in no time... I mean, I'll make my name known in the area I live in.
Anyway, thx guys for your advices.
Your macros are awesome, as always. I'm happy I bumped the thread.

I see your dog likes the Halti about as much as mine does.

Cambrey - good luck with the gallery :)
Yeah, I think she's gotten more used to it over time, but when she first had it on she pawed at it over and over to get it off her nose. It does work, but like most thing isn't made for a dog that has worked out how to use reverse gear ;)
Thankfully the backup collar (hidden in all her fur) saved us a long, long chase after her on this occasion.

Really only my avatar larger:

sadly I'm not at home "home" so I'm not there enough to snap pics, plus I tend to kind of not take that many when I am home (always intend to but always forget to). Besides I can't really take the camera out on a walk with her if alone - I'd be over on my side if I paused to take a shot and a pheasant pops its head up within range of her ;)

Sometimes you get a bit of luck. This is either a Sharp Shinned Hawk or more likely a Cooper's Hawk that I just happened to come across on my way home this afternoon.

I would personally remove the top branches (and the oblique one that is blurry) and keep the nice blue sky as a plain background. But it's just my taste.
