Lord_Kane: sigh then I have been lied too by people, because when I got into them after hearing the haunted instrumental on Descent II's OST friends told me they were industrial, of course 30 years later I learn differently.

what genre then are they?
Gothic Metal or Doom Metal.

Sachys: maybe it was an industrial remix of one of their tracks? (havent played the game).
generally theyre regarded as gothic metal or gothic rock.
Yeah it is a intrumental remix, but that makes sense, thanks for the clarification.
They're more like industrial death metal, but Death Therapy is killer. It's a new project by the founder and original frontman of Becoming the Archetype, if anyone is familiar.

This is pretty industrial. I could see an industrial remix being built around it.
low rated
Is mechanical good too:
If you're looking for bands that aren't strictly industrial then... The Legendary Pink Dots, perhaps. Everyone else seems to have run down a list of the usual prominent acts though.

HunchBluntley: (probably depends how old you are)
At this point, with the band going on without him, the level of recognition can be split into before and after Wayne Static's death.
I have been listening a lot to JERK lately, a lot of great songs in their album, shame they made only one

I'd only add Gary Numan's '90s-'00s period,
Bardoseneticcube,
Toll,
Sutcliffe Judgend (more power electronics than industrial)

There's a bunch of stuff out there to check out, especially old stuff.

Edit: also check out Cold Spring Records (UK) and Malignant Records (Canada).
