Release: Hard Reset Redux

Hard Reset: Redux, a heavily upgraded edition of the cult-classic cyberpunk FPS, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 10% launch discount or 85% for owners of Shadow Warrior (2013)!

Humanity is under siege. Bezoar, the last bastion of mankind, is being attacked by bloodthirsty machines seeking to download its extensive data-bank, where billions of digitized human minds are stored. It's time for a last stand. It's time for hard decisions. It's time for a Hard Reset.

The relentless gunplay, the wanton destruction, and the hardcore sensibilities that gained the original its cult fame, are back with a vengeance. Hard Reset: Redux brings a barrage of improvements, including better visuals, a new enemy type, a sweet dash move, a mean-looking cyber-katana, optimized performance, and an all-around more balanced experience. Definitely a far more enjoyable one than what our mechanical overlords would want us to have, should they were allowed to succeed...

Lay waste to an army of nefarious contraptions and cause a Hard Reset: Redux, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Time to start the download :)
Great release, i'll download it ASAP (and hope it doesn't need any major fixes by the way!) although i wish the contest was available in the forum too instead on relying purely on twitter. :)

I agree on that. Not everybody uses twitter (me included).

The problem with that is that the purpose of the contest is not to make GOG users happy, but to cheaply generate hype on social media.

I agree it's annoying. I don't have a Twitter account either, and I'm certainly not going to create one for the sole reason of being a part of GOG's marketing apparatus. It does make me feel like GOG doesn't value their existing long-time customers to any great extent, but I also understand that it's a business and this is a marketing strategy, pure and simple.
Nice release!
So the timer was incorrect and it's not being released at midnight. Well, it's GOG, so I'm not surprised.

Yeah, I know, it bothers me to no end. I am cursing their lying souls as I am watching the downloader do its work, dreading
having to play the game too early. :D

Nice release, shame about the Twatter only competition though.

We are truly sorry :(
Heh. The funny thing is that I have both Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset vanilla on Humble (and by extension Steam). Both games have DRM-free versions on Humble (which I why I have them there), but the 85% discount I can only get if I buy Hard Reset Redux through Steam directly (Humble only has a Steam key for Redux anyway).

So what do I do? Buy the Steam version and hope that it appears on Connect at some point? Or wait and hope that Shadow Warrior might be offered on Connect in the next seven days? Choices, choices...

I think I'll wait and see what the future brings (along with the inevitable comparison videos on YouTube to see if the visual upgrade is really worth it...)

I'd say having quicksaves probably makes the upgrade price worth it. :P

Actually quicksaves are the thing I want least - I enjoy fixed checkpoints because it encourages a more cautious play style on my part. If I have quicksaves, I tend to get rather lazy and quicksave before any sign of danger. Gets boring.

Well, I'm not sure if you can disable them so the original version would be for you.
Seems like we're not getting the original as a bonus here so the Steam version would be your best bet.
The trailer is locked in Germany. FFS, I hope the fucking GEMA dies at some point, so that a company that is not greedy beyond imagination can take over.
