Developed by our friends at Bloober Team and published by the one and only Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI), this breathtaking release is a masterclass in psychological horror. But you already know how great it is, now it’s time to make it yours forever!

This town is full of monsters! How can you sit there and eat pizza?

Zoidberg: Basicallly this, I'm quite against the trend of more and more expensive games. 70 euros is NOT to be normalized.
Too late for that; it already has been. Accounting for inflation, games are in fact less and less expensive, not more: $70 isn't bad considering that a standard $60 game in 2015 should actually be $80 today, adjusting for inflation. And a standard $50 game in 2000 would be over $90 now.

What the !? How did GOG get the Silent Hill 2 Remake here before the originals? Not that I'm complaining or anything. Just kinda shocked.

JomVanFliet: Indeed - if this would have come with the 2003 'Restless Dreams' PC port out-of-the-gate this would have been an instant purchase.

Now it's a wait-and-see.
The dreamlist entry for the original is still open to vote on:

I don't remember the entry title having "Classic" as an addendum, interestingly enough. Maybe that's a good sign?

It's a nice surprise, but I wish it could have been released here at launch, at the same time as Steam.
I already bought the deluxe edition on Steam and finished it. The price is still too high for a double dip.

I hate not knowing which games are going to be Steam exclusives and which games will take some time (months, years). GOG is my number one store, but this unpredictability is making GOG lose some potential money, I think.

Agreed if anything I would think Konami would be like ''nope too new to let it show up drm free but you can sale the Silent hill 2 pc port thats from 2001/2002 '' unless they was too worried it'd drive salesfrom the remake or something thus allowed the remake to show up here

Clearly the publishers are to blame for this, not GOG.

The early in the morning releases are always big ^^ What a nice surprise! If I remember correctly it was hinted by someone here long ago that the game was coming!

KONAMI, WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL?!?
And I already see extremely negative reviews on game's page. Sigh, fanboys will be fanboys.
at this point, this has to be a sick joke from Konami. First, they release the fourth one out of completely nowhere, and after almost five freaking years now we're getting the Remake before a proper release of all the Team Silent games... lmao

I know. I'm just venting. There are games where I waited years for them to come on GOG (in some cases even devs/pubs promise a release and then don't deliver), and eventually lost my patience and bought them on Steam on a deep sale. Rogue Legacy 2, the Judgment / Like a Dragon games after Yakuza 7, and some other examples.

In other cases where some games didn't look like they were likely to come, I got burned after just a few months. I would have been OK waiting if I could have known about the GOG release.

It's a pity that GOG Connect is gone.

I understand wanting the original (although I'm not sure if people are aware that the PC port sucks lol) but review bombing this release does nothing to achieve that, please grow up
