The Deluxe Edition merely mentions it contains the "Soundtrack", but (unlike the Doom 2016 soundtrack), it fails to give any inventory as to what is in that soundtrack.

As far as I can discern, it seems to be a small selection of the soundtrack rather than the entire thing, about a good half hour of music - contrasted to the 6+ hours of the entire OST. To spare people searching for the info, here's what's most likely in it:

01. White Noise (Actual Noise) [3:12]
02. What Lurks in the Forest [2:23]
03. Promise of the Forgotten [5:06]
04. Laura Plays the Piano (2024) [5:14]
05. Beneath the Null Moon [4:27]
06. Shadows of the Lover's Tree [3:14]
07. Echoes of Silence [1:48]
08. True (2024) [4:11]
09. Twin Pyramid [0:45]
10. Shadows of my Past [2:16]

P-E-S: In a way they actually they kind of did though. Considering the ever-increasing development budgets, actual game prices took a very long time to go beyond the $50 standard that held firm for a considerable while.
The ever bloating game dev budgets, especially for AAAaaaAAaaaaaAAa companies, ranging in hundreds of millions, is another problem entirely. And most likely the actual reason for the price bumps rather than the esoteric inflation. And asking the end user to pay for what is often gross mismanagement and money wasting is a poor justification if you ask me.

But in the end, it really doesn't matter to me. I only buy games once they reach the price I'm OK with, usually at least several years after release. If people are OK with paying 70, 80 or 100 bucks (and GTA VI will most likely be that), then it is just a good business decision, nothing else.

EDIT:
That being said, I'd be interested in diving into the Silent Hill games for the first time, but with the originals of course. So until they arrive on GOG, still in the "wait mode" for the series.

Superb news! While I don't care about this title (because I'm too afraid to play horror games), I would gladly repurchase Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Edition.

Not this version

$70 for a remake, laughable. Hard pass.

Looks like it's doing good so far on the best seller list. Really hope it does well here to show the bigger publishers that GOG is a viable platform for bigger releases.

Happy to see this here, please GOG do not pay attention to the negative comments, this remake will 100% sell. You guys are moving to the right direction recently, I am sure about that. You have been releasing many many big hits recently ranging from classics to newer AAA games, which can only benefit this store. Also, I just cannot believe Konami somehow agreed to release a new game here.

BenKii: What the !? How did GOG get the Silent Hill 2 Remake here before the originals? Not that I'm complaining or anything. Just kinda shocked.
The original Silent Hill 1 and 2 are barely playable without fan made patches and fixes. I am more surprised that the remake ended up here on GOG so soon.

GOG.com: Confront the monsters, solve puzzles, and search for traces of your wife.
Searching for something else (not my late wife), I stay puzzled by the opening music of the trailer: seems very much close to Metallica's "One". Intentional (given the lore) or not?

Well, DRM was not the problem because this game was DRM free on that other platform from the start.

What made a difference is simply that the GOG gamers are putting a very high value into Silent Hill as a franchise (top 10 on the wishlist) and that GOG surely was willing to accept some better than usual "offer" to the publisher, as they may not become bankrupt after; given the in general high GOG gamer demand.

A lot of people say "the classics are abandonware" as the publisher is showing zero interest into releasing or offering it. Unfortunately, so far that seems the case because not a single word nor action from the publisher known as Konami. I hope they may still change their mind. They do not even have to fix it, it is already fixed (or able to become fixed) by fans and it can be bundled as a bonus on the Remake, making it even more valuable to any buyer.

Of course, if they provide "a standalone" then yes, it will need to become fixed by themself. Although, as a bundle no one can demand such "obligations"; it is simply a preservation-backup, and goodie, without any warranty.

Anyway, in my experience: As soon as a game got a Remake, the classic version is usually "doomed" because in most cases it will become abandoned. So there is little hope Konami may ever provide a classic as a "fixed standalone". Yet i told already... this is not a requirement, we simply should get the classic version bundled with the Remake, and no fix except a removed DRM, thats all i would ask for. Ah yes, if they got the source code from the classic laying around somewhere... please put it inside as a goodie as well... thanks a lot!!! The fans will fix it perfectly... zero work for Konami but several times more sales, i am almost certain.

I'm still playing MGS V on my PS3 because, currently, their is no DRM free option on PC. I would buy that in a literal heartbeat.

If we go off of what happened with Capcom after RE 1-2-3 came out, it seems promising. Would really like to get the Castlevania collections and MGS V.

Still waiting for an answer on the price in my region. But I guess GOG doesn't really care.
Bummer. I was really hoping you guys would do a re-release of the original.
There's an awful lot of whiners in here. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but my God - there really is no pleasing some people.

Currently up to 2000 gamers are playing MGS V on Steam and around 5 million was buying it.

How many copys will be sold on GOG; what do you predict?

Still protected by Denuvo but i bet... "cracks" are all around the net for many years already.

Oh and i hope your PS3 will not give up any time soon because this is the problem with many consoles: They simply got a limited lifetime and even if they may life up to 20 or even more years, their days are "numbered" at some point, usually sooner than a physical copy.
