BanditKeith2: Same granted I don't think Origins had a pc release

JomVanFliet: Right, just Homecoming then.
Although thinking about it I'd want to take Downpour for a spin too, just to see if it's really the worst one.
Downpour is okay. The only way to play it without too many FPS issues is to stick the Xbox 360 disc into an Xbox One. There was supposedly a PC port in the works after original release but was cancelled. Then Konami renewed the Shadow Complex game to keep it up for sale and neglected Silent Hill Downpour leading to its delisting along with the company folding. Sadly, Konami survived somehow. Will GOG work to preserve this game? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!

Oh, somehow I misremembered Downpour having a PC port too.

Really is just Homecoming then.

Xeshra: Something wrong with the Remake? I mean there must be a reason Konami does only want to provide that one.

Reznov64: There is a reason, they lost the source codes for 2 and 3 several years ago (probably 1 as well).

Edit: They also lost the rights to several of the soundtracks back in 2020, so the original music will all be stripped away if the games are ever re-released.

Edit 2 Electric Boogaloo: If I recall correctly there were disputes with the original voice actors for 3 plus one of them died so that game was completely re-dubbed.
We need to assume these companies are incompetent unless proven otherwise so we must preserve the product. Look at Final Fantasy VIII and losing the source code, THAT is incompetence if not negligence.
As far as the soundtrack, just pay the royalties with the VA's and include the soundtrack by itself with Silent Hill 3 PC. Only sell us the "deluxe" version at a slightly higher price if they need to, I don't mind.

Downpour is 30 FPS locked on consoles, and only available on consoles. So i dunno how it could have any "bad FPS" if it got those FPS by design.

It has constant frame rate drops and freezing issues on both Xbox 360 and PS3. An official patch was made but it didn't fix anything.

adikad13000: Also, it makes perfect sense that the community rather voting old games, since it has been a common knowledge, that publishers refuse to release new games here anyway, so probably no one is bothering to vote on something, which is unlikely to be released here anytime soon. Not to mention not everyone has been aware of the fact that KCD 2 is goint to be released on GOG no matter what.

Matthias00001111: Speaking of wasting time using logic in arguments, you thinking that people aren't bothered to do something as simple as clicking on a title they think won't release on GOG, instead of that a considerable portion of buyers in GOG might simply not be that interested in titles that they can play perfectly fine through Steam, is very funny.
What is even funnier, that there's like 132 games listed as "Only on GOG", so I guess this "considerable" portion of buyers are not interested to buy anything else with this logic of yours, since they can play everything else perfectly fine on Steam. Because it's not like GOG has that many exclusives to offer, in fact they are very weak in that regard. A year ago we didn't even had the Capcom games released here or the Preservation Program, so it's not like this has been a thing for years either. A handful of titles maybe had better versions here at that time, while others didn't even had the latest patch, if the publishers ever bothered to update them.

petravonkant: But that's precisely the point being made in the post you quoted. If there were plans for the original SH2 to be made available in the near future, you'd expect them to have already emphasised in the game's title that this is the remake. The fact that it's just "Silent Hill 2", with no attempt to differentiate it from an imminent release of the original, suggests the original is ... not imminent.
The point is a theoretical release of the original hasn't been green lighted, even if GOG is in talks with Konami they can't predict if they'll be able to release the original in a few months or after a year, so there's no need to differentiate a non-existent release

Plus maybe Konami prefers to let the remake be "Silent Hill 2" and the original "Silent Hill 2 (original)" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It may run even better on a emulator, hard to believe but possible.

Cough 1984 cough, visual newspeak coughi.
As far as Silent Hill-likes are concerned - maybe GOG could try to get the just recently released Post Trauma onto the store?
Maybe even in time for its soft relaunch in June?

This dev's favourite Silent Hill must be the third one, clearly.
Why the relaunch, something wrong with it?

Nevermind, I'm a blind dumbass.
Voted.
