Wow, what a letdown.

This release thread, that is. It is like people are annoyed and meh about the game being released on GOG.

To me this was a very nice surprise.

EDIT: Ok my bad, I started reading from the second page. The first page was more enthusiastic.

MarkoH01: 30% launch discount and still almost 50 Euros. Sorry, but this is a videogame and I will never be willing to pay that much for a videogame. I get most of my videogames for 10-20 Euros and they are also fine. I am also a bit concerned about one of the 1 stars reviews that states that they desexualized some characters since I hate censoring - but then again if I understood this correctly this is a game on its own so I would have to judge it on its own ... it goes to the wishlist for now in the hope that one day it reaches a discount that is good enough for me.

The fact that it took Konami so long to bring it here shows that GOG is still treated as second class - which is another thing I don't want to support (yes, I know that this might become a self fulfilling prophecy but I prefer to support publishers who really want to be on GOG and really want to support GOG) ... weren't Konami also the guys who removed their MGS2 game from GOG again?

RizzoCuoco: Hell....Dustborn is a highly rated STEAM title after all.

MarkoH01: Why shouldn't it? It is not a bad game at all. Telltale games have their fans and Dustborn is basically the same with a bit more gameplay. Those kind of games (the Telltale game storybook like games) might not be for everyone but enough to get a hight rated on Steam. If you look at the GOG reviews and substract those who never even played the game or only played it a few minutes on Steam before refunding it you would probably see a similar rating.
Ok, you defending Dustborn tells me your opinions should not be taken seriously.
Impressive work, but even more impressive price.
Out of my current budget
This is great! Hoping to see more Silent Hill in GOG in the future

darthspudius: I'm not a "Tank Controlz R HARD!" person. The original plays wonderfully and is still relatively unique by today's standards. The remake had it's awesome gore and lighting, otherwise it's a generic horror game. Subjective? Maybe.
Eh, don't completely agree with anything you said except subjective. I think original doesn't play *that* well, or that it's that unique; I do think it plays really well though. I would say REmake 2 plays better than it do to requiring more strategic thinking with zombies and Tyrant in the first half while also having better level design, but then it drops the ball after the Police Station. RE2 is more consistent.
If I had to order RE games by personal favorites, it would probably go something like REmake 1> RE 4> RE 2~ REmake 2.

Well, looking at the numbers (79093 votes for Silent Hill 2 (Classic) vs. whatever [much lower] amount of votes the Remake managed to rack up) the less enthusiastic response is not surprising at all.
Absolutely no clue why they can not release or include the classic version. They do not even need to enhance it, just remove the DRM and the other stuff will become fixed by the fan overhaul, it seems.

Perhaps it is not initially compatible but they will make it compatible, i am certain.
I could not believe I would see this bomb so soon. Bought it for PS5 last year but just bought it here too. Bring us more of the wishlist!

I played the game and I mostly liked it. If that is a reason for you to not take my opinion seriously that's up to you of course.
Nice ... the lighting is especially impressive in the remake. I watched a streamer play through it.

And am I the only one thinks the new Maria is hotter than the original? that tattoo is better placed ...

I don't think my laptop could handle this game howver, maybe if we got the original ...

"WAHHH GOG never releases new games!"
GOG releases new game
"WAHHH GOG never releases old games!"

The endless cycle continues

Best to remember normal people do not spend their time on gaming forums ^_^

No, there's at least two of us.
Okay, if Konami is ready for SUCH releases, how about the original (as a bonus or even as a separate item in the catalog)?
Been playing for a bit and the game is and the game is running quite well and looks really good on the default settings, even the water reflections are impressive. The fog is giving the game a good sense of uneasiness and so far the game is controlling quite well.

Playing on a Ryzen 5 7000 CPU with an AMD 7700XT 12GB card. The PC is also hooked to a 4K display.

Also running on Linux Mint and the game is playing quite well in WINE. Just need to install the Visual C++ runtime.

strange, I didn't see any of such responses in the last release threads of Capcom's games. Moreover they announced and released multiple titles at once. It's almost like leaving customers in the dark and letting them wait for years generates bad feedback...
