Looks like a step in the right direction, more use of comedy and more faithful to the type of character Captain Marvel is.

Glad to see Zach Levi getting a starring role. His relative disappearance for a few years after Chuck was odd since he plays a nerd better than anyone but maybe Richard Ayoade.

I'm bored of super hero media besides Spider-Man but always was into the "average person using powers" side of hero stuff. Def gonna see this one and might look more into the comics if this trailer is a good representation of things.

I'm eye-rolling at all the "finally a FUN DC movie!!!" comments. That's pretty much all I have to say about the otherwise mediocre looking popcorn movie trailer.

All these fucking Manchildren and their aversion to anything resembling of grit and drama and blood.

All 5 fucking years of me enduring the shit talking of DC movies and all of a sudden they do a complete 180 like a bunch of a mob sheep.

Not a fan of Shazam, but this looks like it could be a fun movie.

Surely the really bad quality of their grimdark movies full of grit and drama and blood had something to do with it? :D

I don't care much about trailers, I'll wait till the actual movie to form an opinion. Except...what's up with that weird muscle-suit?

I'm more thankful that it is lighter than other DC movies because, to me, Captain Marvel just doesn't feel like he would fit in the dark tone of the previous DC films. Yes he has been in some darker comic stories but the essence of the character has always had a lighter atheistic. Even when they brought back the multivierse in the comics Captain Marvel and the Earth that the Fawcett comic characters exist on just has brighter colour tones. In the Black Adam mini series from a couple of years ago Captain Marvel Sealed away Black Adam's powers the magic word was just perfect yet so ubsurd at the same time, but again showing his lighter side.

I will never get over the fact we're finally getting a Captain Marvel movie, but they have to call him "Shazam". But other than that, I think it looks good. I wish they'd lean more into the corny, boyscout side of Capt... Shazam, but then again this is about a contemporary kid getting superpowers, the golden age mentality would maybe feel odd and a bit out of place. But it looks good. The guy playing Captain Shazam seems to be pretty good, and Billy Batson seems to strike a good balance between having some depth and character but not being a jerk. I wish we'd seen more of Strong's Sivana, but I guess that will come in time.

I hope for a lot here. I hope it's fun, does justice to the character and does well enough to have sequels. I want to see him fight Black Adam. I want to see him meet Superman and maybe the rest of the League.

They are filming Captain Marvel right now. :D

Black Adam is in pre-production, I think. The Rock is slated to play him.

I know. And I know it's going to be a pain in the ass, because I will constantly get confused which movie people are talking about, and I will confuse people too when I talk about it, because my brain absolutely refuses to think of the DC Captain as "Shazam".

I know that too. And honestly, I'm more than a little worried about it. Johnson might look righ for the role, but I can't really imagine him playing a villain, especially a villain like that. Black Adam is supposed to be absolutely ruthless and god-level all-you-mortals-are-ants-to-me arrogant and aloof. I just don't see Dwayne Johnson pulling that off. I hope I'm wrong.

He played a villain in Doom. Say what you want about the movie as a whole, I thought he was pretty good. AND 99% of his wrestling career was as a villain.
