Shmacky-McNuts: I read that. Now think for a moment how they decided all player created content was claimed by GSC. Just because they felt like writing it that way in their tos. If you want to trust them, thats your decision. Given the name change, I certainly wouldnt trust those people to not ruin the originals in some other ways. When they have no respect at all for the fans that kept the games alive, even when those devs didnt do anything to support their own work.
Fuck their TOS
I'm on GOG, because all I need is possession & full control of game installation.
GOG gives me that for Single Player Games & my total ban on all "In-Game Cash Shops"
That means I gave up playing multiplayer games over two decades ago.
DRM free is great, but not the reason I use GOG, I'd be fine with offline installers with offline DRM, to get rid of ANY store client.
I don't use Galaxy either, but I knew it was vital to GOG's survival, the moment the coonsoles forced AAA Publishers to use the store client instead of the game provided network client, while Steam had the feature for Valve mutiplayer games, GOG had nothing.
This was the era when the latest C-Suite trend was each game must have all the modes, so GOG stopped getting new games.
The "Good Old Games" era when only GOG & Pirates provided digital downloads of PC games that never released on Steam.
That era ended in 2012 when Steam dropped their Curated AAA new games policy & let any old game get added as well (Greenlight Era).
These factors meant GOG lost their "Good Old Games" monopoly & needed a store client ASAP to survive beyond Witcher 3.
Launching Galaxy in 2015, cemented CDPR's reputation & though old timers like me will never use Galaxy, we wouldn't still be on GOG without it existing.
Bonus Galaxy free GOG feature, no crappy store client based "Achievements""
I don't need a store to play my games & GOG has a website Where I go to buy those games.
