These are up for 3 more days.

Right now, How To Survive has zero entries. The Total War title has 2 entries.

I will pull them in 2 days if they don't get five entries.

And Phandom really wants the Total War game, so don't let him down!

Cheers!

I can understand that people need CV points, but pulling a giveaway because it doesn't have enough entries seems a bit... In the past I've made a bunch of giveaways that, judging from the wishlists, should have gotten at least five entries but for whatever reason (bad ratio?) people didn't enter, but thinking of it from the entrants' perspective, it's a better chance for them.

Two giveaways. They have been open for 3 days already. One of them has zero entries. The other has two.

I agree with oasis. if people have entered for the GA, it isn't fair to pull them just b/c you won't get credit for them. that's not the point of this group.

This game has almost everything I hate, it's rogue-like, turn-based and strategy. *gag* however, you all seem to really want it, as it's #4 on the list. Good luck, and enjoy your poor taste in genres. ;)

Darkest Dungeon
CV 3 ends in five days.

This one is very good, but it's not for everyone. If you don't like hard, unforgiving games where ocassionally bad luck can be as devastating as bad decisions skip it. If you are getting too attached to your characters and losing them is a problem skip it.

If you can appreciate the above and can take the challange of working around it to overcome overwhelming odds then definitely go for it. There aren't too much things that are more glorious than a party at Death's door escaping their doom multiple times and winning a crushing battle versus all kinds of unspeakable horrors.

Thanks for sharing this, Crew!

Then that should be codified into the rules. I think what I'm doing makes sense.
Some giveaways about to end - CV isn't everything, but I'm sure the person giving them away would appreciate getting at least 5 entries:

Timoneda!
Congrats, you'll find your key on steamgifts. Have fun!

Then you're in the wrong group. Your lucky if any GA gets 1 entry, much less 5+

edit: I see you deleted them already. Frankly if I were admin of this group, I'd kick you for doing that.
Frankly, if that was a kickworthy offense, it would be codified into the rules.
I understand peoples' point of view with "CV isn't everything", but then people should also understand, the past day has seen 3 level 3 and 3 level 1 giveaways in this group, so obviously CV is SOMETHING.

There definitely IS an issue with lack of entries to giveaways, and I'm not sure why we should take that as a given ("You're lucky if you get 1 entry!", etc.), instead of attempting to fix it.
Whatever the rules are, whatever the spirit of the rules are, I try to keep with them, and be polite and all, but it is often disheartening to see a game on 10 peoples' wishlists, but then have only 3 entries.
Well I think the main issue is it's a group for games of one site (GOG) to get games on a different site instead (Steam), there may be less interest.
Pulling a giveaway that has entries is a pretty unpleasant way to treat the members of the group that did join. Not cool.

We need to remind ourselves that we started this thing to gift games to each other using the SG framework, not to farm Steamgifts CV.

That hasn't been a problem before. It seems nowadays people are more reluctant to join giveaways for smaller titles (which are getting more and more abundant because of all the bundles and constant discounts everywhere), especially if they don't see themselves playing them soon or maybe ever. That, in combination with the ratio, is probably even scarier to some who hope to pick up a more expensive eventually.

I second this. If you have 0 entries and time left, sure, take it off if you feel like it. CV or not, if there is even one entry the only thing that comes to my mind is this.

Why should we all be kind enough to give away games hardly anybody wants if we're not nice enough to make sure giveaways get at least 5 entries?

Give and take, people.

If you don't want to act like a SG group, then why be part of SG? Why not just sit here and offer each other stuff on the forum here?

Yes, I pulled the giveaways. I also sent the Total War game to Phandom, since he was the one who wanted it.

I never mentioned CV, by the way. The way I see things, I'm a member of a group with 195 members. If my giveaway only gets a couple of entries, then I figure the group doesn't really want it. So, I'll do something else with it.

I happen to like the people in this group. And I've given away some nice games, and I've won some nice games. So, no, I'm not in the wrong group. Our group just happens to have a couple problems.
