v V.P.N., yes or no?

^ A great idea, except all the ones I tried kill performance and paywall the best features.
< As of 2 weeks ago, I've transferred all gaming activity including this forum to a laptop that I picked off the top of a trash-bin and asked Dad to fix for my birthday. (He finished with perfect timing!)
v Have you ever asked for a gift that put practicality and affordability before surprise?
> Or for that matter were you ever involved in gifting that was on a tight schedule and it wasn't late?

^ Yes, I sometimes ask those gifting things to me to buy cheap practical items to save them some money.
(or to give me gift cards/money instead, as then they don't need to spend much time shopping either)

< Am now going through saved pages i've saved to clear ones I don't need anymore(instead of putting it off even longer)

v Anything you've put off that you should try getting to at some point?
^ Remember that Lego Zilla I was talking about when I started posting? I still need to line the stomach with Lots of Fish before I can even consider combining it with the spikey back.
< This post is actually another example, because both prior attempts to type it have been met with spontaneous deletion when my Curse of Auto-Clicking refreshed the page.
v What's with this freaking curse?! I had it on my weak Windows 7 PC bought at a thrift store in 2015 and it's continued in this 2011 or-so gaming laptop with Windows 10 and was much worse with the laptop's track-pad. In shooters, it means I occasionally need to reload a save because the computer is more trigger-happy than I am.

^ You mean random clicking while you have your arms and/or hands on the keyboard?
You might need to disable the tracking pad(touch pad) entirely.....I did so via device manager, as Win10 seems to have made it near impossible to do so(at least entirely/permanently) via their options menus.
(one needs to look for their touchpad in device manager under the "Mouse and Other Pointing Device" section, and then disable it there)

< I am now trying my best to game a bit, while getting ready for the holidays

v You also getting ready for the holidays too? If so, how?

^ Every year Mom refuses to not put the Christmas lights up and as the most qualified, I charge $40 every day that I apply or remove them from the edge of the roof. Because I'll be damned if I have to climb a ladder for any less on our uneven lawn and infamously windy weather; and I remind her every time that we could just not put them up, but nooo.
< But the payment might be delayed this time because we're considering 6 volumes of Hellboy as my Christmas present; then I'll also be payed for helping clear out the garage, so it's shaping up to be a good Spring Sale for GOG maybe.
v Mom's assessment of the Tolkien Saga is "I never realized New Zealand had so many mountains.", "If there's only one ring, why is it 'Lord of the RingS'? (Asked twice, reminded her of the prologue both times.)", and "Orlando Bloom's hair is so perfect! (She's a trained barber, to be fair.)"

^ Yer brave.....I would never climb a ladder like that, or most other times either

< As for yer windfall: i'd give more money to zoom atm, but that's just me....hope ya spend it on some good stuff.

v Going to eat soon....what do you think I will be eating and/or what's the last thing you ate?
^ Beef ravioli and buttered toast, while playing through INSIDE and I've gotten past the part where big fluid tanks roll out of a doorway and nearly crush me.
< Do you mean Zoom the video-com service, Zoom the bad Tim Allen movie, or something else?
v I want the Lego Daily Bugle so bad, but I have almost nowhere to put it! If it becomes mine, should I shorten the design so it'll fit on the top shelf, or settle for blocking my movies on the dresser?

^ I'd keep my favorite sets assembled and rotate some of the other sets in and out of storage(dis/reassembling each time) to save space....then I could display each one in their full glory when the mood struck me(plus half the fun is putting em together, right? :)).

< I meant zoom-platform, the game store....they don't have many games, but they are DRM free and closer to how GOG was in their early days, so I think they deserve all the support they can get.

v Where does the rain fall mainly, when in Spain?
Post edited November 19, 2021 by GamezRanker
^ I dunno about Spain, but Oklahoma usually gets flooding rain during a drought.
< Now that I have a refurbished proper gaming PC, the laptop has been demoted to Youtube player/picture collection.
v Since you're going to make rude guesses about said images, try to make a polite guess too.
^ Cat pics obviously, since it's all tubes and cats...
< Nekomusume... Why am I thinking about that word right now?
v What's your computer's wallpaper?
^ The original Win 7 wallpaper, yeah it's my old office PC (Edit: I can't use it for gaming)
< Man, I have a lot of PC games but never played it because I don't have my own PC ;(
v Do you have a decent PC for gaming?
Post edited June 06, 2022 by Takashi_Hafuza
^ Not quite as much an upgrade as I was hoping, but it hasn't completely failed any game yet; the sound-card needing a warm-up of trying to play sound for a few minutes before it actually does is nothing to be proud of and it happens if I spend just a few seconds in silence.
< Just Cause 3 has had it the worst so far, just for needing very low resolution to get good FPS, but the good news is low FPS means eternal bullet-time!
v What's the lowest FPS you can tolerate and the highest you've ever achieved?
^ FPS consistency is more important. If 20 FPS is steady it's okay, but if it varies/stutters it's intolerable. I prefer a minimum of 30+ FPS but have achieved well over 100 at 3840 x 2160.
< 1920 x 1080 looks okay if one wants higher FPS
v Immersion is what it's all about, right?
^ Yes, which is why Final Fantasy 15 is even worse than Just Cause 3 actually; imagine the entire ground looks like the still background of a 6-bit image and the FPS is in the pits even with low settings.
< Worse yet, every single asset looks 16-bit and bounces to the rhythm of my footsteps with afterimages of the position from 1 frame ago.
v Is this Denuvo's fault and even if not, how do I get rid of it?
