Thought I'd make a thread about this since we're mostly singleplayer guys here and good FPS campaigns are pretty rare today. I was super surprised to find that Titanfall 2 has a truly great singleplayer campaign. I expected a Call of Duty style thing, but it's way better than that. Fast-paced action, actually good first-person platforming (which I didn't think was possible), actually good level design that doesn't feel like a long corridor and cool sci-fi visuals. The story is kind of meh, but everything else I'm really into.

Not saying it's as good as Doom 2016 but it's up there, and I can't think of anything else from a major publisher this good since... since... hmmm. Well anyway, it's good. I got it for $10 or less in an Origin sale, which I'm sure will happen again. Check it out.

Did TF 1 have Sp CAMPAIGN and did you play or like it as well? Also what did you think of bulletstorm? So far it seems a bit unique to me with it's kill system and whatnot.
No, TF1 was multi only.

the campaign in 2 is quite good if a little short, I enjoyed it, they also reworked the titans a little in the multi which I didn't really like.

Is the MP able to be played by people with bots offline like Brink/etc? I ask as it sounds like it'd be fun to try if that is the case.

Does Microsoft have the thing where if I buy this I can play it on pc as well? I know some of the games did that pc and xbox one compatibility thing.

Again, im sort of familiar with what you speak of, I think Forza has a similar type of thing, but I cant speak with any authority as to which titles do and don't.

my guess is not, but again, theres a possibility im wrong

Gonna get it in the morning when I drop by the car dealer and give the game a go. I pretty much gave up on multiplayer so anything story and bots is good for me! robots is a +, Still sad the day HAWKEN for pc shut down... sad day for everyone.

No, Titanfall 2 had no deal with Microsoft and is not a "Play Anywhere" title, the first Titanfall had Xbox console exclusivity but it came before dual platform licensing even existed. BTW I played the Xbox version on a One X and it played really well, not sure about a regular Xbox One though.

But I agree with the OP, it is a great single player campaign- it just controls and flows so well and has decent variety- it doesn't just get into a rut of "filler levels" like so many single player shooters. At launch it probably was not worth it just for the single player portion, but it now sells for a few dollars and is worth it for a few play throughs.

StingingVelvet:
Yes, the campaign is very good and to think that the game is based on Source engine!

However Electronic Arts decided that I have to play localized Russian version with inferior voice overs and be happy about it. Normally there is a workaround in the internet to get the original version back, but nothing works for this game. There is no option in Origin client to buy multinational version or some kind of upgrade to English original game. EA staff posted in Origin forum that there is a way to launch ENG version with a command line parameters and that it only works if user have additionally bought and activated a global key for a game, in other words they kindly advised me to go G2A. Isn't that great? I love Origin.

Cadaver747: ...
Did you try this? It worked for me (though I finally ended up buying english version from Amazon).
