bad_fur_day1: I'm also right in the middle of FES too. I really like Metis, she also has no weaknesses which is great.

Had great luck fusing personas, I always have great luck fusing personas, I kind of like the challenge of not having a persona compendium, you really have to work on your personas rather than just buying them back. Oh, you might be going through The Journey, you mentioned social links that arn't in the Answer, which I'm going through now. I'm thinking mostly healing personas are best, because your going to be healing a lot in boss fights, if you've only got one healing persona, the next boss you run into could nail their one weakness.

I managed to get Growth 3 on all my personas in The Journey, they all just keep leveling up, excellent skill to try to get. The Answer is also harder, if you get hit with a weakness you miss a whole turn rather than stand back up, it's deadly. I also defeated death that follows you around if you stay too long on one level in The Journey.
Thanks for the tips! I haven't even looked at the compendium so far :)

Yes, I'm still right in the middle of the Journey. My base party for the most part has been Yukari, Akihiko, and Mitsuru, which gives me healers at every spot and pretty good coverage of the major elements. I do often swap out one for Junpei, depending on the situation, and I just got Koromaru, who I've been using a little bit because he's just so adorable. I haven't used Aegis much so far, as she got the living crap kicked out of her the last couple of times I brought her along. I'm guessing she's the kind of character you're meant to invest in early so you can get a big pay-off later on...

You should rotate all your characters in and out and level them all up. They all have different weaknesses, for example you don't want to take Mitsuru along to a boss fight that has Fire attacks or she will get wasted. Koromaru is good because he only has Hama weakness I think, not a lot of bosses attack with Hama spells so he's a great choice to take along for most boss fights. There's also a few new characters you'll gain later with good weaknesses as well, Ken for example is only weak to Mudo for the same effect, and he has cure spells.

Get a persona with growth 2 or 3. Fuse growth into different persona. Buy back that original growth persona from compendium. Fuse Growth into another persona, repeat as many times as you want. Now all your personas level up without leveling them. :)

There's also a update compendium button, that will overwrite the personas in the compendium with the more experienced versions that you have leveled up, so when you buy them back, your buying them at the highest level with the skills they have gained. So you want to make sure you always keep your compendium updated.

Also another tip, if your having a lot of trouble with a particular boss, just leveling up a bit will make a huge difference, your level has a large amount to do with how much damage you take. Go and gain a few levels and you'll take less damage from their attacks.

Jagged Alliance 2 wth the 1.13 + Arulco Revisited mods. It's the best way to play the game that I've encountered thus far. Really difficult though, but incredibly satisfying. 1.13 adds tons of guns and features, and Arulco spices up the map considerably with some incredible level design.
Descent 3

I don't know if I will continue playing this... Yeah I started playing it at the hardest (Insane) difficulty level, and the gameplay is busting my balls. I am still struggling with the very first enemies on the first level, they seem to do major damage to me, are very hard to hit as they keep zipping around me very fast, and the shield powerups I get here and there give only very little extra shield.

E.g. I keep fighting this one tiny enemy and before I've been able to destroy it, my shield strength has gone from 70 to 23 (if it goes to 0, I die). There is a shield powerup nearby, but it increases the shield merely by 6 or 8 points. Whee!

What makes matters much worse is that I seem to be fighting the enemies on very narrow and cramped corridors where there is very little room to try to dodge their shots, and I keep constantly getting stuck to protrusions on the walls of those small corridors and rooms if I try to strafe and move around to dodge the enemy shots. Argh!

I'm still trying to figure out if I should use my flightstick or a mouse for aiming. The flightstick feels more pleasant and natural for this kind of game, while the mouse might be more precise for small movements.

If I am struggling this much this early in the game, I have hard time understanding how I could enjoy rest of the game. Yeah I guess I could switch to some easier difficulty level, but I could just as well enable some god-mode while I am at it. I don't recall having this much problems with the earlier two Descent games (finished both a looong time ago), either they were easier games, or I've become much worse with these type of games.

I recall many old-skool FPS purists damning newer FPS games (ever since Halo) for having recharging shields, but god damn it I wish Descent 3 would have them too. After all, the (Descent) Freespace games have recharging shields as well, and no one is complaining. This gameplay where one early enemy may do several dozens points of damage to me easily, and then I can only replenish a measly 6-8 points of it with powerups, just won't do.

Witcher 3. And just in time, too... There goes my summer... Oh, well...
I want to play Devilmaycry4, but I'm actually a little bit scared.

On a side note, f**k Grand Theft Auto rules.

I'm currently playing Gothic II Gold Edition again. This time i'm playing as a Fire Mage. :D
I've got a few games on the go, but my attention is on Cibele at the moment. It's a pretty short game, so I should be done soon!
The Walking Dead and slowly going through RE: Revelations.
Also just tried the demo for Project Zomboid, really interesting game, but I couldn't survive a day...
On a zombie spree I guess.
I was kind of flailing about looking for a game to grab my attention and finally settled on Legends of Eisenwald. Good fun, and kind of gives me a bit of an Expeditions:Conquistador vibe (which is a very good thing).
Descent 3

Changing to mouse controls (mouselook option) helped with the difficulty, but now it feels like a FPS game with a floating player, not like I am controlling a ship like with a joystick. A shame really.

So using a flightstick with the game feels more authentic, but using a mouse makes the game easier because of better speed and precision. I had a similar problem with Privateer, it was easier to play with a mouse but then it didn't feel like a space combat sim anymore.

A bit like if you'd play a car racing game with a mouse where you can flip your car 180 degrees in a fraction of a second, without any inertia. Sure it would make the game much easier and controls snappier, but it wouldn't feel like driving a car anymore.

Waiddaminute... I was considering stopping playing Descent 3 because it is so difficult... but I just read on some FAQ that you have unlimited lives (ships) in the game, and it doesn't really matter how many times you die. Is that really true?

And to think that until now I've tried to play the game very carefully not to get damage from enemies (in order not to die). It appears to me that enemies don't respawn if you die... so doesn't it make sense then just to frantically shoot at everything without caring how much you get hit (and die&repspawn)?

Suddenly the game seems to have changed from veeeery difficult (in Insane difficulty level) to easy peasy...

Dark Souls 3 (PC). I finished one playthrough of it (25 hours), and I enjoyed my time with it overall. I might revisit a few places before starting NG+ to see if I missed anything.
Metro 2033, Uplink and Heroes of The Storm.
Still Bloodborne. I just can't seem to stop. Started NG++ and completing the optional Chalice Dungeons. Seriously, there's so much extra play time in those Chalice Dungeons that I'm surprised they didn't separate that part and sell it as DLC.

Nearing the end of the Chalice quest line and just defeated Defiled Amygdala boss...the hardest boss I think I've ever had to put down in any game. 10 times harder than anything in the main game, including the regular version of Amygdala. Because it's a "cursed and defiled" Chalice it has to be done with half health...meaning one hit dead. I tried for 4 hours (no joke) until I had every little attack pattern the bitch could make worked out. Finally smacked her down solo, only using one heal pot when I accidentally stepped in her vomit. Just 6 more regular Chalice floors to go...

Initially I rated Bloodborne slightly lesser than Dark Souls, but now that I'm deep in Chalices, I've changed my mind. Bloodborne is the best Action RPG EVER!
