Sollidottingen: It does though. Since the inception of GOG.
It did, past tense. Still a lot of old games sold here.

The problem here is not what the shop's name is but how hard it is to find anything in here and this is a very real problem with tens of threads created about it whenever GOG makes it worse again.

We need more filters and they should work as expected. We need ability to choose this tag AND this tag. We need to be able to sort according to date originally released, price AFTER discount (what we customers have to pay) and much more.... Alas, we can only complain and hope they do something about it.

BKGaming: You are missing the point. Here I will link the announcement from 2012 for you:

https://www.gog.com/news/bigger_fresher_newer_see_whats_new_on_gogcom

Pay attention to:

"These games lead the way on our the transition from Good Old Games to simply GOG.com. It doesn’t matter what G, O, and G stand for, Gee Oh Gee dot com stands for high-quality, DRM-free gaming, each week with bigger and newer games."

Before 2012 they used the Good Old Games branding all the time, on pictures, etc. They have not done that since before 2012 because Good Old Games no longer exist.

That doesn't mean they don't sell old game anymore, that just that they don't specialize in old games only.
You are missing the point. GOG = Good old games. They created that abreviation and GOG still stands for good old games no matter what some marketing team says. You are doing an awful lot of arguing for someone who said he didn't wanna argue.

Themken: Steam has a lot of old games for sale too <shrug>.

It is hard to search for anything in this shop, that is for sure.

The name of the company is stated a the bottom of the page (GOG Sp. z o.o.).
avatar
Sollidottingen: Steam mostly uses Good Old Games ports and fixes for modern systems. Almost always GOG fixes the games and then the rights owner releases the fixed game on steam as well.
avatar
BKGaming: Because GOG is the offical name. GOG stands for GOG. GOG does not stand for Good Old Games. This isn't that complicated.

It doesn't though, it now stands for Gwent On Galaxy!

It doesn't mean that anymore.

Nothing you can do or say will change that.

This guy is on topic. Unlike some people...

So i'm right in understanding that they have removed the options to find the GOOD OLD GAMES from GOG?

Sollidottingen: How do i see "new releases" and sort by date released now? Why remove features? Before it was easy to see if any new nostalgia titles was added.. You could even sort by different release dates...
I think changing sort by "oldest first" is suppose to show the oldest games by release date in order... but I think it's currently broken. I just sent a message to a GOG staff member to confirm or not.

If I hear back I will let you know.

Evolution now means devolution. Get used to it :P

Just because you say a word or even an abreviation mean something doesn't make it so.

It has been made a whole lot harder. There are third party tools to help you in here and also tips and tricks that SHOULD NOT BE HIDDEN GRRR.

I am still waiting for my cake. They promised if I buy here I will get cake too.

We aren't.

GOG has stated that it no longer stands for Good Old Games. That was the entire point of the rebrand. I guess you don't understand the concept of a rebrand?

Changing it from GOG to GOG is not a rebrand. It seems you don't understand the concept of a rebrand.

Edit: Can you just stop talking about oftopic bullshit?

How is he being off topic?

You said in your OP, YOUR OP, "Good Ol Games".

You broached the subject. He is correcting you, and correctly so, for something you said.
That IS NOT off topic.

Wow okay. Believe what you want dude, I can't make you believe something.

Anyway, I confirmed "oldest first" sort option is indeed broken, so I guess if GOG ever fixes that you will be able to sort by the oldest games first.
