Since you already sound a bit biased about the whole thing, are you sure it wasn't just adding coal to the fire? :)
Not saying there's anything wrong with not purchasing games on GOG or leaving GOG entirely, but you don't need a discussion/convincing for that I think. It's something you can evaluate on a personal level - does it make sense to you to purchase a game here/stay or not?
Anyway, I don't want to get into an argument over any of this (to each his own), but to address at least one of the points from the excerpt you've provided, GOG has been known to occasionally
secure publishing rights for certain games. They don't just sell the Witcher :P.
I also don't think there's anything particularly wrong with their general business model (of course there are other things which are sub-optimal, but that's just life) and would certainly not want them to change their name to YAS and turning into yet another Steam.
